Microsoft to Pay $14 Million to End California Worker Case (1)

Microsoft Corp. will pay $14.4 million to resolve a case filed by California regulators alleging the tech company discriminated against employees who used parental, disability, and family care taking leave.

The accord, announced Wednesday and subject to court approval, will provide direct monetary relief to California-based Microsoft employees who used protected forms of leave between 2017 and 2024.

Microsoft doesn’t admit liability or wrongdoing as part of the settlement.
