Universal Brands Sued by Starfall Over New Roller Coaster Name

Universal City Studios LLC and related Universal entities must face a suit in federal court for allegedly infringing Starfall Education Foundation’s trademarks with the name of its new roller coaster, Starfall Racers.

Starfall, a nonprofit based in Colorado, is known for its safe, inclusive, and entertaining learning platform, according to its complaint. Starfall also says that it has used the Starfall brand for over 20 years and uses its platform “to teach through non-violent interactive games and other activities emphasizing kindness, respect, and anti-bullying.”
