Dr. Kayode Farinto, former acting President of the Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA), has thrown his support behind the recent appointment of a substantive registrar for the Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria (CRFFN). His message is clear: it’s time for industry progress and solutions, not sentiment. According to Dr. Farinto, this appointment is not only legal but necessary for stronger, stable leadership within the industry. With Act 17 of 2007 backing the Minister’s authority, this step brings a leader who knows the industry inside-out—a registered freight forwarder ready to tackle pressing challenges head-on. However, Farinto also raised critical points: Reinstate the CRFFN Board: A full council is crucial for effective decision-making and fulfilling the CRFFN’s mandate. Balance in Representation: Dr. Farinto urges reducing government seats on the board, allowing more active freight forwarders to bring their expertise to the table. Inclusivity in Associations: Embracing new associations could inject fresh ideas and innovations into the sector. Strengthen Nigerian Shippers’ Council: Enhancing NSC's authority to support importers and regulate surcharges could further protect local interests. As Dr. Farinto says, it's not about "where you're from" but "who can work and perform." Let’s build a future with stronger leadership and a commitment to real change for Nigeria’s freight forwarding sector! 💬 What are your thoughts on these proposed changes? Share in the comments!

Road freight is how most of our goods get from point A to point B using trucks, vans, or any vehicle on the road. It’s essential to supply chains, helping deliver everything from fresh groceries to manufacturing parts, fast and efficiently. But like everything, it has its benefits and its challenges. Why Road Freight is So Useful: 1. Cost-Effective – Road freight is often cheaper than air or sea, especially for smaller shipments. 2. Flexible – As long as there’s a road, we can get goods there! Perfect for reaching remote locations. 3. Quick for Short Distances – For local or regional deliveries, road freight often beats other transport options in speed. 4. Wide Variety – From refrigerated goods to hazardous materials, road freight handles a range of products. Challenges Road Freight Faces: 1. Environmental Concerns – Trucks contribute significantly to CO2 emissions. Cleaner options like electric trucks are in the works but there is a lot of work to be done 2. Infrastructure Limits – Congested or outdated roads can slow things down, affecting delivery times. 3. Worker Shortage – Drivers and logistics personnel are essential but in short supply, with many leaving the industry due to tough work conditions. @AMGLogistics, we’re constantly finding ways to make road freight as efficient, sustainable, and reliable as possible. From navigating challenging routes to planning greener solutions, we’re here to keep goods moving. Let’s support smarter, greener logistics for the future! Share this post if you believe in advancing road freight for a better supply chain. #LogisticsMadeSimple #RoadFreight #AMGLogistics

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has launched an investigation into claims of extortion by some of its officers at road patrols and checkpoints along the Kaduna, Kano, and Jigawa corridor. Traders from Sabon Gari Market raised their voices, reporting unbearable demands from certain customs personnel. In response, Area Comptroller Dauda Chana has promised swift action to ensure integrity within the service. He’s even shared his direct phone number to encourage traders to report any misconduct they experience. Chana assures the public that any customs personnel found guilty will face strict consequences. He’s committed to restoring respect, dignity, and professionalism within the ranks. Let’s hold our officers accountable and keep our roads fair for everyone. #Accountability #NigeriaCustoms #StopExtortion

Did you know? The Niger Delta region, which covers over 70% of Nigeria's coastline, has what it takes to lead our maritime industry! After 68+ years of oil exploration, the region has built up some serious skills and resources, even creating local solutions for maritime needs. For example, locally-made tugboats and barges are already being used to help ease the traffic around Apapa Port in Lagos by moving containers to less congested areas for easier transport! Imagine if we fully embraced these local resources—this could mean faster, smoother shipping operations and less gridlock at our ports. Let’s support and leverage what we already have right here at home! #NigeriaMaritime #NigerDelta #MadeInNigeria #Logistics

If you’ve noticed a recent uptick in shipping rates, especially for goods moving from Asia to Europe, don’t worry—it’s not expected to last. Here’s what experts are saying: It’s Just a Small Spike: Rates went up slightly last week, but it’s only a minor bump after 14 weeks of decline. Analysts are saying this jump is more about seasonal demand and some ships being temporarily taken out of service (blank sailings). Long-Term Rates Are Still Dropping: Overall, shipping costs are trending downward. Even with this small increase, rates are about 50% lower than they were just a few months ago. Shippers, Stay Strong in Contract Negotiations: Analysts advise shippers not to lock into high rates because of a temporary spike. The shipping market is volatile right now, and more people are choosing contracts that adjust with market rates to avoid overpaying. Why the Rate Push? Carriers want to keep rates up despite a slowing market, but experts say it’s unlikely to stick. Bottom line: It’s normal to see small rate changes, but the overall trend is still down. Don’t let short-term changes sway long-term decisions! #ShippingNews #GlobalTrade #SupplyChain #FreightRates #Business
