  • Meet Felicitas Edeh, the founder of Nuriswell Foods and beneficiary from our 2023 Farmers for the Future grant. In 2023, while serving as a Nysc corp member in Rivers State, she experienced firsthand the struggle of inadequate access to affordable healthy meals, hunger became the greatest teacher, it sparked a vision in her to create an INNOVATIVE FOOD SOLUTION, that would not only make cooking easier, but also affordable to help tackle food insecurity. The vision gave birth to Nuriswell Foods, a food processing and packaging brand dedicated to providing convenient, nutritious and locally sourced meal combos. Nuriswell foods, is making cooking easier, faster and convenient by providing prepackaged food combo packs. Each pack of their product contains all essential food products needed to prepare a specific meal. They process and package locally grown food crops, into food combos, ensuring freshness and high quality. Each food item inside a pack is separately packaged to maintain its natural taste and allow easy portioning, all in one combo pack. With Nuriswell foods, you can cook your favorite meal in 20mins or less. Saving time, while still enjoying a delicious home cooked meal. Their products eliminate food waste, ensure consistency in taste and make meal preparation completely stress free. Her vision directly aligns with UN SDG goal 2: Zero hunger. From a simple idea born out of necessity, Nuriswell Foods has grown into a brand making waves in the Nigerian food industry, gaining loyal customer base with repeat buyers who love the products and expanding market reach by attracting distributors and partners. Many Nigerians struggle with time consuming meal preparation from going to the market, selecting food ingredients, measuring ingredients portions and ensuring consistency in cooking. The food combos eliminate this stress by providing READY TO COOK MEAL PACKS, helping busy professionals, students, Nysc corp members, families eat well without stress. She's accelerating action and making an impact in the agricultural sector. Let's come together to support her growth. hashtag #womeninagric #accelerateaction #batnf #youthempowerment

  • Empowering Vegetable Farmers for Dry Season Farming. Our GreenField Day brought farmers in Akufo (Ido LGA) and Ajeja (Akinyele LGA) communities in Oyo State together for a capacity building training designed to equip them with the skills and resources needed to thrive for sustainable dry-season vegetable farming. This impactful capacity-building session covered Nursery management - teaching farmers how to establish and manage healthy seedlings, Good Agronomy practices -  for optimal yields covering techniques for efficient planting, watering, and soil management to maximize yields. Safe handling and application of fertilizers, tools, and pesticides for reduced environmental impact, ensuring farmers adopt safe and sustainable methods for protecting their crops. To reinforce theoretical knowledge, we established demonstration plots where farmers received hands-on training. This enabled them to practice new techniques, ask questions, and receive feedback from our experienced trainers. Our farmers were empowered to replicate these techniques on their own farms. By leveraging demonstration plots as learning hubs, we're helping to foster a resilient and thriving agricultural community. #GreenFieldDay #DrySeasonFarming #VegetableFarmers #SustainableAgriculture #FarmerCapacityBuilding #batnf #supportingsmallholderfarmers
