We are an international multidisciplinary society of experts and stakeholders in blood transfusion avoidance. BMSS promotes the science of providing quality health care without the use of allogeneic blood with the aims of improving clinical outcomes and protecting patients’ rights, in accordance with WHO pillars of patient blood management (WHO 63rd World Health Assembly, 2010).
