Stéphanie Diagne, Assistant Manager, African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) shared the bank's pivotal role during the COVID-19 pandemic, emphasizing grants and tools of intervention designed to tackle healthcare challenges in Africa, including the Construction and Medical Tourism Relay Facility (#HMTP) and the African Medical Centre of Excellence (#AMCE). Cynthia de Leeuw-Go, Commercial Director, Biotech Training Facility provided an overview of their state-of-the-art facility in Leiden, #Netherlands, showcasing fully-equipped laboratories and clean rooms. She detailed the comprehensive courses offered, which blend theoretical knowledge with practical hands-on experience, celebrating the success of the inaugural cohort of African Vaccine Academy Scholars. Dr. Ayorinde Babatunde James (Ph.D.),our expert speaker, delved into the ALCOA+ principles, guiding the audience through the critical flow of data, the dangers of false information, and the vital importance of data integrity within the vaccine ecosystem. He concluded with a strong call for awareness regarding data protection laws. Bloom Public Health is excited to #announce the #appointment of Segakweng Tsiane as the new Managing Director of Bloom Public Health #Botswana. With an MPA degree from the University of Botswana and a BA from the University of Botswana and Swaziland, Segakweng brings over three decades of experience in public service. During her tenure with the Botswana Government, including 17 years as Permanent Secretary, she led transformative national projects focused on #policydevelopment, #gender and #humanrights, and youth and culture initiatives. Her expertise spans a wide array of fields, including #humanresources, #corporategovernance, and organizational development. She has contributed to critical areas such as #defence, law enforcement, public safety, #justice, #politicalgovernance, and gender issues, as well as engagement with organizations like the #UN, #AU, and #SADC. In the private sector, Segakweng has consulted on development policy analysis and evaluation, with a special focus on #pharmaceutical and #vaccinedevelopment opportunities in #Botswana. In recognition of her outstanding service, she received the Presidential Award of Meritorious Service in 2015.
