  • As part of BINL's ongoing efforts to address environmental challenges and promote sustainability, it is crucial to align our effort with this year's theme of "Restore the Earth" focusing specifically on land restoration, combating desertification, and building drought resilience. These issues are critical components of BINL's environmental stewardship and require collective effort. Land restoration is not just about revitalizing ecosystems, it is about safeguarding livelihoods, ensuring food security, and mitigating the impact of climate change. By restoring degraded lands, we not only enhance ecosystem services but also contribute to climate change mitigation and adaptation. In BINL, we can contribute to this cause by not allowing our practices to affect the climate. (Reduced Carbon Footprint, Nitrogen oxides (NOx) and Sulphur oxides (SOx) etc.) Desertification exacerbates poverty, food insecurity, and environmental degradation. To combat desertification effectively; we in BINL must adopt holistic approaches that integrate sustainable land management, water conservation, and community engagement. Investing in drought-resistant plants in our offices, implementing soil conservation measures, and promoting agroforestry through our relationship with the Nigerian Ministries of Environment are essential strategies for mitigating desertification and preserving valuable ecosystems. Droughts are becoming more frequent and severe due to climate change, posing significant challenges to agriculture, water resources, and socio-economic stability. Building drought resilience requires proactive measures to enhance water management, improve agricultural practices, and strengthen community resilience through our Corporate Social Responsibility Policy implementation. As a team committed to environmental sustainability, let us use this occasion to reaffirm our dedication to land restoration efforts. Let us leverage our expertise, resources, and partnership to implement innovative solutions that promote sustainable land management practices, restore degraded landscapes, and enhance community resilience. Together, let's take action to protect our precious land resources, combat desertification and drought, and create a more sustainable and resilient future for all. Best Regards, Adekunle AREOGUN Managing Director

  • Safety is the foundation of the operational excellence we promise our clients and the entire BOURBON team, at sea and on land! It is also one of the Group's 4 commitments. In our industry in particular, and the world of work, this World Day for Safety and Health at Work on April 28 is a key day for awareness, reflection, and action.  A key objective is to reinforce our safety culture to achieve our goal of zero incidents, but even more, to ensure that no employee is injured in the workplace. As done every year on the occasion of this key event, all teams, both on land and on board vessels, will get together to initiate discussions on this strategic subject. #worlddayforsafetyandhealthatwork #bourboninteroilnigerialimited #worlddayforsafetyandhealthatwork2024

As we observe World Malaria Day on April 25, 2024, we reaffirm our commitment to accelerating the fight against malaria for a more equitable world. This year's theme emphasizes the need for collective action to address the disparities that perpetuate the malaria burden, particularly in vulnerable populations. In BINL We will continue to do the following : - Continuous commitment to our employee's well-being at all times and malaria prevention is one key aspect of this commitment. - Ensure that employees implement key malaria prevention techniques (good housekeeping, the use of mosquito-treated nets, etc.) - Increase awareness and mobilize resources to support malaria control and elimination efforts. This will be done in safety meetings, briefing debriefing, and campaigns. On this World Malaria Day, let us recommit to a more equitable world where no one dies from a mosquito bite.
