Ahmed Usman Ododo at Connected Development [CODE] yesterday👏 As we continuously engage, enlighten and encourage citizens to actively participate in governance, it is also important to engage elected officials with feedback from citizens, community needs and data to inform policies, government interventions and enhance service delivery👌 When citizens provide feedback and participate in dialogue, they not only hold their leaders accountable but also contribute to a more responsive and effective governance that truly serves the people. #CivicResponsibility #ActiveCitizens #CitizensEngagement #ProjectTrustNG

“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.”👌 Earlier today, Connected Development [CODE] was live at Yar’Adua Centre Abuja as part of the CSOs hosting the #NigeriaAccountabilitySummit2024, a platform for informed conversation between citizens and govt/private stakeholders to identify transparency gaps and practical steps towards “Enhancing Accountability to Limit Vulnerabilities” and close both manpower & resource leakages in Nigeria👌 On closing manpower leakages, Dr. Aminu Garba a representative of the Nigeria Medical Association stated salary increase is not even enough but creating an enabling environment that provides continues incentive for people to stay. This he said involves addressing push factors like lack of standard equipments and unlocking the health sector value chain to crash down prices of drugs. The Chief Executive, Nigeria of Malala Fund Nabila Aguele who was also present and part of the panelist for the focused discussion stressed the importance of adopting Connected Development [CODE]’s #FollowTheMoney accountability and feedback mechanism particularly in education, to help citizens track education budget, allocations & disbursements which will help them better understand and know who to hold accountable for what👌 The 2day event continues by 9am tomorrow at the same venue. We call on all citizens to join the conversation because when it comes to holding government accountable, every voice matters & every effort counts!✊ #NAS2024 #EnhancingAccountability #LimitingVunerabilities

Attention #ActiveCitizens❗️ Do you know that 16 States in Nigeria (Kogi State being the main plaintiff) filled a lawsuit to demand the nullification of two anti-corruption agencies, EFCC and Nigerian Financial Intelligence Unit? 😳 The suit is scheduled for hearing tomorrow 22nd October 2024. The questions remain what are these States afraid of? Why is the constitutionality of these agencies questioned now post LGA autonomy? Are there hidden agendas by these States? Dear #ActiveCitizen, do not wait to find out! Despite the existence of these agencies, fighting corruption has remained an intensive fight with no end in sight, now imagine what will become of our country if these agencies are nullified❗️ Act now, lend your voices to Connected Development [CODE] and other members of the coalition of CSOs demanding transparency and accountability in Nigeria to say #NoToNullifyingEFCC! Anti-Corruption agencies are the guardians of integrity in governance, say #NoToNullifyingEFCC✊

On this day 4years ago, the grievances of young Nigerians demanding an end to police brutality was met with more violence, leading to loss of lives and livelihoods💔 Today we remember again, the supreme price they paid for justice and accountability, we will continue to honor their sacrifice by ensuring our voices are heard✊ We will keep echoing the questions they all asked “How many more”? When will simple conversations and grievances be met with compassion instead of violence? #EndSARSMemorial4 #NeverForget #EndPoliceBrutality
