I get kinda egoistic when people ask me “Hey, what community do you belong to?” Excuse you, you haven't heard of DigiClan? Yes, in that exact tone with shoulder pads raised. You are allowed to judge. 😂🤭
Why the shoulder pads, you ask? Reflecting on my journey, I can't help but acknowledge the profound impact DigiClan Africa has had on my life.
DigiClan Africa gave me;
🔍 Access to lifelong close friends.
💡 Two years of invaluable work experience that jump-started my career in digital marketing and Project Management. You can volunteer with DigiClan to gain work experience.
📚 A wealth of resources akin to an encyclopedia, from contact lists to valuable industry files some of which you can’t find anywhere. If you want America’s former president, Obama’s contact, you’d get it. Lol. Just kidding or maybe not.
💼 Endless job opportunities and gigs, often accompanied by personal recommendations from community members, particularly the Prime members/Board of Directors. PS: You have to earn this with hard work and integrity though.
🌱 A supportive ecosystem that nurtured my growth as a chronic introvert in the digital workforce. Free therapy, mentorship, one-on-one lectures, masterclasses, and FREE EVERYTHING.
I stumbled upon DigiClan during my final year at university, seeking a community of like-minded individuals to accelerate my career journey. Little did I know, this community would become the catalyst for some of my most significant professional achievements. I knew no one in the community, had no friends nor acquaintances, I was a total stranger and newbie in the digital space.
During the pandemic, I initiated a LinkedIn challenge with #learnwithameenah, along with members like Faith, Juliet, David, and others, reflecting our community's #Ubuntu spirit. This, coupled with impactful tutoring by Omokehinde, Uchenna, and others, drove significant engagement. Recognizing my efforts, I was asked to assume leadership roles within DigiClan Africa under the leadership and guidance of Oluwapelumi, Bukayo, and Harrison, alongside supportive colleagues like Emmanuel, Benjamin, and Kolapo, culminating in my role as Academy Lead. In just two years, I honed administrative, operational, project management, and communication skills, earning three awards by tenure's end, a pinnacle in my career.
Please, we are not just "WhatsApp" groups. We have chapters in Nigeria (multiple states), Kenya, Ghana, and London running like a proper Organization with regular operations, occasional hangouts, movie night meet-ups, conferences, etc.
DigiClan isn't just a community; it's a lifeline for professionals like me, providing unwavering support and countless development opportunities.
Bl**dy proud to be a member. Try to imagine how high my shoulder pads are right now. 😎🤘🏾
