Vasectomy is a form of family planning/birth control that involves a minor surgical procedure to permanently prevent sperm from entering the semen. Despite being a highly effective method, it is one of the least utilized contraceptive options in Nigeria, often due to cultural misconceptions and a lack of awareness. We asked some of our staff what their thoughts are around vasectomy, and if they would consider getting a procedure, and here’s what they had to say: Let’s break the stigma around male contraception, increase awareness, and promote shared responsibility in family planning. #Vasectomy #MaleContraception #FamilyPlanning #SharedResponsibility #HealthEducation #DKTNigeria #exploringbeyondborders

Women should not have to bear the burden of family planning alone. Men also play an important role in this area as it is a shared responsibility. At DKT Nigeria, we encourage men to actively support family planning and work together with their partners to create healthier families. The video below provides insights on how men can be involved in family planning. At DKT Nigeria, we are deeply committed to ensuring access to modern contraceptives. Our dedication remains unwavering, even in the face of natural disasters. For instance, despite the recent flood and bridge collapse in Taraba State, our Sales Representative went above and beyond to reach hard-to-access areas. Undeterred by the challenges, he crossed the river by boat to deliver essential contraceptives to healthcare providers, ensuring that no community was left behind. Watch the short video to see how our team remains dedicated to improving reproductive health, despite the obstacles #Aboveandbeyond #AccessForAll #ReproductiveHealth #Tarabastate #DKTNigeria #Beyondboarders

To mark World Contraception Day yesterday, DKT Nigeria organized a road walk in Oyingbo, Lagos, and conducted outreach events in Lagos and Abuja. At each location, we successfully engaged with the communities, sensitizing them and providing vital family planning information to raise awareness about the importance of contraception. We also offered free contraceptive services for both women and men. We remain committed to creating a world where all the children are wanted, the sex is great and the people are free.  #WorldContraceptionDay #ChoiceForAll #WCDcelebration #WCD #FamilyPlanning #PowerToChoose #FreedomToPlan #ReproductiveHealth #DKTNigeria #exploringbeyondborders

Today, we join the global community in commemorating World Contraception Day! This year’s theme, “A Choice for All, Freedom to Plan, Power to Choose,” deeply resonates with us at DKT Nigeria because it underscores the critical need to ensure that everyone has the freedom to make informed decisions about their reproductive health. Access to family planning is not just a health issue; it’s a fundamental right. With the right information and resources, individuals can take control of their futures, leading to healthier families and stronger communities. While notable progress has been made over the years, barriers—such as lack of access, societal stigma and financial constraints—continue to challenge individuals in making fully informed and empowered choices about contraception. As 2030 approaches, we are actively working towards achieving the FP2030 goal of universal access to family planning, with efforts to increase the modern contraceptive prevalence rate (mCPR) from its current 14% (NDHS) toward the target of 27%. Now, more than ever, there is a need for collective action to close these gaps and ensure that no one is left behind. At DKT Nigeria, we remain relentless in our mission to expand access to contraceptives, provide non-judgmental counseling, and empower individuals to make informed decisions about their reproductive health. For expert advice on #contraceptives, simply dial 7790 for free and speak to our trained counselors or nurses. Happy World Contraception Day! #WorldContraceptionDay #ChoiceForAll #FamilyPlanning #PowerToChoose #FreedomToPlan #ReproductiveHealth #DKTNigeria #exploringbeyondborders
