WHAT IS THE STS 2 METER UPGRADE ALL ABOUT? The Standard Transfer Specification (STS) is a secure message system for carrying information between a point-of-sale (POS) and a meter. This upgrade comes with improved security features. All electricity distribution (DisCos) companies are mandated to upgrade their STS-compliant meters from STS 1 to STS 2 before 24 November, 2024. Prepaid customers who do not upgrade their meters before this deadline, will not be able to recharge their meters. To upgrade your meter, visit kctcheck.ekedp.com to learn more.
