FIRST Exploration and Petroleum Development Company Limited (FIRST E&P) is a leading independent Exploration and Production (E&P) company with maximum delivery capacity across the upstream oil and gas value chain, including drilling, well completion, well testing, and production operations. Though established in 2011, the company officially commenced operations on July 1, 2012 initially focused on the acquisition, exploration, and appraisal of the assets it acquired. FIRST E&P achieved first oil production from the Anyala field in OML 83 on October 21, 2020 and recorded its first export lifting on January 10, 2021. The company currently produces over 40,000 bbl/d and remains focused on growing its daily production to 60,000 bbl/d. Following strict adherence to HSE guidelines, FIRST E&P has logged over 5-million-man hours with zero Lost Time Incident till date. In 2021, FIRST E&P won the “Independent or Indigenous Upstream Operating Company with the most impactful Local Content Initiative” award for local content contributions at the Nigerian Oil and Gas Opportunity Fair (NOGOF) for its contribution to and support of local content, with over 3,000 tonnes of steel materials fabricated locally for the Anyala Project by Nigerian vendors. With the vision of establishing itself as the most admired independent exploration and production company contributing to the well-being of Nigerians, FIRST E&P aims to set up a shallow offshore-based midstream gas business and that will be fully operational by 2025.

We're excited to announce a groundbreaking partnership between the NNPC Ltd / FIRST E&P Joint Venture and the Nigerian Conservation Foundation (NCF) to launch the ALEC Project (Afforestation, Livelihood Enhancement, and Carbon Sequestration). As Nigeria grapples with one of the world's highest deforestation rates, this initiative is a critical step towards restoring our precious mangrove forests. This initiative will work to revitalize biodiversity, protect coastal ecosystems, and create sustainable livelihoods for 11 communities in Bayelsa State. This inspection was led by our Executive Director, Corporate Services, Mr. Emmanuel Etomi, and included business leaders from various areas across the company. During the walk-through, the FPSO team demonstrated the robust measures and systems in place to ensure our operations align with world-class standards of efficiency and sustainability. The inspection team was satisfied with the clear leadership and excellent HSE management exhibited by the FPSO team and our partners. The Abigail-Joseph FPSO is a critical asset, processing resource output from both the Anyala and Madu fields and delivering over 56,000 barrels of oil per day (bopd). The facility's high reliability and availability across oil, gas, produced water, utilities systems, and storage capacity underscore our commitment to maximizing resource use while minimizing environmental impact.
