The Institute for Oil, Gas, Energy, Environment and Sustainable Development (OGEES) is an international research Institute centered at Afe Babalola University, Nigeria that utilizes multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary approaches, to develop, inform, and influence critical investment and policy decisions by industry and government on issues related to oil, gas, energy, environment and sustainable development.
As Nigeria’s first and pioneering sustainable development research and training Institute, it aims to promote the sustainable exploration of natural resources, protect the environment and human health, promote sustainable agriculture and foster a progressive shift towards renewable energy resources in Nigeria, across Africa and all over the world.
The OGEES Institute pursues a three-fold mandate of research, capacity building and public dialogue. The Institute initiates projects and responds to requests from the public and private sectors and from non-governmental organizations in line with its mandates and objectives. The Institute organizes workshops, seminars, conferences and courses on particular topical aspects under each of its programs.
The Institute conducts interdisciplinary, policy and regulatory research for federal, state and local governments, ministries, agencies, firms, private organizations and development organizations within Nigeria and for international organizations outside Nigeria.
