SOS CHILDREN’S VILLAGES GRANTS 120million naira to 12 Village Savings and Loans Association (VSLA) in Ogun State. This support is part of our efforts to empower project participants especially women in the Family Strengthening Programme of the organization. The funding will help the VSLA groups implement group businesses, giving them the startup capital needed to grow and sustain their livelihoods. This initiative will build resilience and foster growth amidst the economic situation in the country. Above all the grant given to these VSLA will strengthen the 5 communities in Ijebu East LGA of Ogun State and lay a strong foundation for the total well-being of the child. #FinancialInclusion #FamilyStrengthening #SOSChildrensVillages

Following the devastating flood in Borno State that occurred on September 10th 2024, SOS Children's Villages is responding to the urgent needs of families affected by the flood, ensuring they have access to shelter, food, health, and basic necessities. We are supporting 3,000 individuals with unconditional cash transfers and over 300 young girls with dignity kits. Borno State is experiencing the worst flooding in 30 years, leaving thousands of families displaced and communities devastated. Homes, schools, and livelihoods have been destroyed, but together, we can help rebuild hope. Borno, a state that had begun to rebuild after years of crisis, now finds itself plunged back into humanitarian need and emergencies. There is an urgent call for support, especially for families in our program in the Goindamgari community, housing over 80,000 people. SOS Children’s Villages is mobilizing resources to assist flood victims, particularly vulnerable children, but we cannot do it alone.
