Why are things the way they are? What if black was white and white was black? What if I did it this way instead of that way? Children are often curious, but many times, we shut them down for questioning the norm, or for imagining that things could be otherwise than they currently are. Curiousity speaks to the power of your imaginative self. It is how you observe the world around you, understand why things are the way they are and even think of how they can be better. Have you ever wondered why things are the way they are? Do you often find yourself questioning norms, or do you accept them without even the slightest itch? Here's your call to: 🟠Be observant! 🟡Get curious! 🟠Ask questions!

If for every time you added value to someone or something, a gold pouch was handed to you, how wealthy would you be, by now? Think about it well, because it is actually true. Instead of thinking: "I need a job". Why no think: "where can I contribute with my knowledge and skills?" "Where can I add value?" You'll notice that like a swarm of bees, opportunities will come surrounding you like a flood. Wealth is in value. The value you add is the measure of your wealth. Do you know that you are valuable? This new week provides you another opportunity to add value everywhere you go, and wherever you are! #education #educationforall #valuecreation #valueaddition

If school were not a scam... The average person thinks that: "I'll go to school, earn a degree, and my degree will earn me a job". Because of this thought process or idea, many have experienced disappointments, when the so-called school did not give them a 'job'; and because of that say- "school is a scam" If school were not a scam, why is school not handing out jobs to people? Remember back in the days, when people from their penultimate year would have job appointments waiting for them? Why is it not so anymore? The keynote speech delivered by Barrister Abimbola Ojenike at the career fair addressed this issue keenly. Think about it this way: You go to school and you learn new concepts about how the world works- whether in your biology class, or in your accounting class. You understand how things 'are'. But you're not supposed to remain at that point. Imagine if the Wright brothers only went to school to understand how things are? Imagine if their minds did not conceive "other possibilities"? Imagine if their hands did not explore those possibilities? How would you fly from point A to B, in just a few hours? Hence, education isn't just to "hand you a job". Instead, education gives you an awareness of what is happening in society. Through education, you understand how society functions, as well as your role in it. Education is a journey of self-discovery. Are you being educated? How much of yourself have you discovered?

Career Fair 2024: The Success we dreamed of and more! Two weeks ago, we hosted senior secondary school students in Oyo State to 'The Career Fair'. It was such an auspicious and life-defining moment for the students, as they understand their 'why', for being in school. Our participants also gained keen awareness on what education is meant to do, not just FOR them, but IN them. The students left the career fair, inspired to play their role in society through the transformative power of education. We especially appreciate our keynote speaker, Barrister Abimbola Ojenike, and our highly esteemed panelists: Mr Adedayo Adebayo, Mrs Bodunde Ifeoluwa (RDN), and Ms. Oluwatomiwa. The immense value shared with the students is not one to be forgotten in a lifetime. It will be our duty at The Speech Squad to help the students digest and make profit with everything they have learned. This is captured in our post-career fair mentorship program. It is a most exciting venture for us to embark on a journey of Impact. We are excited, not just to observe how these students will turn out, but to be a part of their transformation. Congratulations to all the participants!

Stepping on a stage can trigger butterflies in your stomach, but it is okay to feel that way🤗. Even the most experienced speakers feel a tinge of nervousness. Feeling nervous before your talk first reveals that you place a lot of importance on what you're about to say. It tells you that you care about your audience so much that you do not want them to be disappointed. You want them to get value from your speech. The nervousness you feel comes from adrenaline produced by your body as a response to an unfamiliar situation. It produces either feelings of nervousness or excitement. In moments of nervousness, adrenaline prepares your body for potential danger. It increases your heart rate, pumps more blood to your muscles, and tenses your muscles. This heightened state of alertness can make your hands tremble, make your heart beat very fast hands or generally make you feel uneasy. On the other hand, when you're excited, adrenaline is still released, but your brain interprets the situation differently. It then releases a rush of positive emotions; a surge of energy, often accompanied by a feeling of anticipation and a desire to engage with the situation. The good news? You can decide what side of the coin you're on. You can turn that nervous feeling into excitement. By consciously educating yourself that the stage won't bite, you can convert nervousness into excitement. Decide today to turn nervousness into a powerful connection with your audience. You may feel scared, but do it anyways! Go on, and rock that stage! #stagefright #publicspeakingtips #publicspeaking #publicspeakingskills #publicspeakingtips
