Earlier this month, we were at the 11th German-Nigerian Business Forum, focusing on agribusiness, renewable energy, construction, and vocational education. Our Executive Director, Dr Remi Oni, delivered a compelling keynote address. He highlighted the importance of technical and vocational education in driving sustainable economies, citing Germany, Japan, and South Korea’s economic success. He emphasized Nigeria’s need for a skilled workforce to maintain infrastructure and grow the economy. During a panel discussion on “Vocational Education/Digital Skills towards Scalable and Sustainable Initiatives," our Head of Corporate Communication, Rafiat Gawat , emphasized the critical need for public-private collaboration to improve access to vocational training, particularly in rural areas, learning from the experience of other nations and adapting it to fit Nigeria's context. In another panel session on ”Strengthening the Nigerian Agribusiness Industry for Food Security and Export Market” " our Executive Director of Cormart Nigeria Limited and Chi Farms Limited , Dr. Johannes Flosbach , discussed strengthening Nigeria’s agribusiness sector to enhance food security and export capabilities. It is World Food Day today, and we are reminded of our shared responsibility to ensure no one goes hungry which aligns with this year's theme, "Right to Foods for a Better Life and a Better Future". Over the past week, we have been engaging in various activities to spotlight and drive the call to action on the urgent need for food security. Here’s a snapshot: • Joined the Lagos State Hunger Walk to raise awareness of hunger and malnutrition. • Participated in the "Zero Hunger" Charity Football Match organized by FoodClique • Donated essential food items to support the distribution of meals to vulnerable communities.
