Yesterday, we concluded our events and programs for the year in Lagos with the Africa Debate Cup Lagos 2024 grand finale.
It has been months of diligent effort, intellectual pursuit, and discernible growth for our talented young participants from schools across the state. A huge honor goes to our advisory board members, Kunle Hassan and Sola Adeola, SOGEBRA., for receiving the inaugural Africa Debate Cup Leadership Award—your dedication to empowering Africa’s emerging leaders is truly inspiring. We were privileged to have Dolapo Agbede FIMC, ACIPM, LDS deliver an outstanding keynote address on the theme "Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging: Creating a Better Society Through Practical Solutions." She also chaired the formidable adjudication panel, comprising Aderonke Oyelakin, Oluwashogo Oyeniyi - Dr Shogo, Ruth Ekwere, and Adeniyi Ogunbanjo.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to our partners—Vibranium Valley, Venture Garden Foundation, American Corner Ikeja, and Sixt—as well as to our team, volunteers, and everyone who contributed to the success of this year's events.
It was special to have the esteemed presence of our special guests and partners including Folasade Adefisayo, Moyosore Asubiojo ICSN, ITIL, MBA, Rotimi Eyitayo, Ogo Val Okonne, who brought great inspiration to all participants.
Special thanks to our event compere, Kolawole Oluwanifemi, for a fantastic job keeping the energy high.
At Africa Debate Cup, we don’t just organize debates, conduct organization tours, or award gifts and scholarships, among other initiatives. Whatever we do, our objective remains the same:
“Building Africa’s Emerging Leaders.”
The journey continues, and we’re excited to keep growing alongside our young leaders!
