Why NGOs (Non-Governmental Organizations) should prioritize communication over information sharing 1.Engagement*: Communication encourages two-way dialogue, fostering engagement and participation from stakeholders, whereas information sharing is often a one-way dissemination of facts. 2. Contextual understanding Communication considers the audience's perspective, needs, and context, leading to a deeper understanding of the issues, whereas information sharing might overlook these factors. 3. Relationship building Communication helps build trust, credibility, and relationships with stakeholders, essential for NGOs' long-term success. 4. Feedback and adaptation Communication allows for feedback, enabling NGOs to adapt their strategies and improve their impact. 5. Empowerment Communication empowers stakeholders to take action, make informed decisions, or advocate for change, whereas information sharing might only raise awareness. 6. Sustainability Communication promotes sustainable change by involving stakeholders in the process and encouraging ownership.
