Happy World Circular Textile Day! At Yetroselane Fashion Hub, we believe in the power of circular fashion to transform the future of textiles. Today, we’re celebrating our journey towards a more sustainable and equitable fashion industry by leveraging on the principles of circular economy to reuse, reduce, and recycle. Through fabric waste repurposing in our production process, we create innovative textile products that reduce environmental impact while empowering women and communities along the way. Our commitment is reflected in three key Sustainable Development Goals: SDG 5: Gender Equality We’re proud to promote women's empowerment in the fashion industry. By training and employing talented women artisans, we ensure equal opportunities for all, helping to close the gender gap and foster leadership. SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth Our focus on sustainable production creates decent work opportunities, driving economic growth while supporting artisans and small businesses. Through ethical practices, we ensure fair wages and promote safe, empowering working conditions for our team, community and partners. SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production At the heart of our mission is our dedication to minimizing waste and promoting responsible consumption. By repurposing textile waste generated from our garment factory to recreating beautiful items like Travel bags, beddings, tote bags, furniture covers, Ankara journals, flip flops, dresses, accessories and many more. We breathe new life into textiles, reducing landfill waste and contributing to a circular economy that prioritizes sustainability over excess. "Last week, we successfully concluded the 2nd batch of the WEFash Impact Project at our Ikorodu Local Government center, where 228 youths, 80% of whom are women, received intensive training in fashion and design. These participants, aged 18 to 35, learned essential skills in pattern drafting and garment construction, and we are thrilled by the exceptional work they have produced. So far, 80% of the participants have already secured decent jobs, while several have started their own fashion businesses. As an organization, we are committed to transforming lives by addressing youth unemployment and creating pathways to entrepreneurship. Vocational training is vital in empowering communities, and we are proud of the incredible work being done through the WEFash Impact Project to drive positive social change. #WEFashImpactProject #EmpoweringYouth #VocationalTraining #FashionForChange #YouthEmpowerment #JobCreation #Entrepreneurship #SocialImpact #CommunityDevelopment

Earlier today, I attended the official launch of the CIRCO Hub Nigeria —a transformative initiative by EDC in partnership with the Circular Business Platform, proudly supported by the Kingdom of the Netherlands. This initiative is set to empower Nigerian businesses by helping them adopt circular strategies that enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and extend the life cycle of their products and services. As a fashion brand, who has integrated the circular model into our production process by embracing a zero-waste policy at Yetroselane Fashion Hub and as a fashion educator committed to empowering women in the industry, I recognize the significant knowledge gap that exists in this space. I am thrilled that the CIRCO Hub initiative is positioned to address this need. I am genuinely excited about this initiative and the partnership that has brought the CIRCO Hub to Africa. A big shoutout to Dr. Nneka Okekearu , Director at EDC; Michel Deelen , Consul General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands; Opeyemi M. Oriniowo of the Netherlands Consulate; and Dr. Dr. Natalie Beinisch representing the Circular Business Platform, CIRCO Hub Nigeria. Together, we are ushering in a new era of innovation, sustainability, and circularity in African business. #CIRCOHubNigeria #CircularEconomy #Yetroselane #Yetroselanefashionhub #BusinessInnovation #SustainableGrowth #EDCLaunch #CircularAfrica #GlobalSustainability

This week was all about the CFYE Challenge Fund for Youth Employment , a significant initiative funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands. As part of our commitment to the WEFash Impact Project, "The WEFash Impact Project aims to provide job matching and creation for 1,000 youths, emphasizing the empowerment of young people through skill development and employment opportunities" which is co-funded by CFYE and Yetroselane Fashion Hub. We participated in a two-day learning event. This gathering brought together participants from diverse countries, including Kenya, Uganda, Jordan, Egypt, and the Netherlands, all converging in Lagos, Nigeria. The event focused on critical themes such as mental wellness, promoting well-being, and fostering inclusivity in the workplace. These discussions are vital as we strive to create a healthier and more supportive work environment for all employees where our CEO, Yetunde Akande, and our Technical partner on the WEFash Impact Project PaTiTi Consulting Bisola D., Ginika Obinna-Okorie proudly represented the Yetroselane Fashion Hub as one of the Implementing partners from Nigeria. This learning event was not just about exchanging knowledge; it was a vibrant networking opportunity that connected all implementing partners and the CFYE Team. We were thrilled to meet and share insights with fellow innovators and change-makers dedicated to empowering youth through sustainable employment. A highlight of the event was the privilege of providing the goodie bags, which showcased our upcycled products made from textile waste. These included tote bags, fabric journals, T-shirts, and kimonos, reflecting our commitment to sustainable fashion and environmental responsibility. During the event, we hosted a tour of our showroom and factory. Participants had the opportunity to observe some beneficiaries of the WEFash Impact Project in class, witnessing firsthand the training and development they receive. They also had the chance to purchase products made by these beneficiaries, which was one of the highlights of the tour. Additionally, they met with several beneficiaries who have secured permanent employment through the project, underscoring the real-world impact of our efforts. Overall, it was an engaging and productive week that reinforced the importance of collaboration, innovation, and dedication to creating positive change in the youth employment sector. We look forward to continuing our work with CFYE and our international partners to build a brighter future for young people around the world.
