📢 New osteoporosis screening recommendations underscore the importance of early detection.    The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force now recommends bone density scans for all women 65 years and older and postmenopausal women under 65 with risk factors for osteoporosis-related fracture.    Menopause accelerates bone loss, yet screening rates remain low — leaving too many women at risk for preventable fractures. These recommendations reinforce the need for proactive DXA scans and earlier intervention.    Optimizing bone health starts with closing screening gaps and making osteoporosis prevention a standard part of care.
