AVANTES IN THE FIELD 🧬 We're thrilled to spotlight an exciting #research study that leverages Avantes solutions to explore the photoisomerization of molecular photoswitches! The research team from Crespi Lab developed a setup to measure the forward and backward quantum yields of molecular switches like azobenzene, combining fiber-coupled LEDs and a calibrated thermopile detector. This setup, which utilized an Avantes spectrometer and light source, enabled real-time monitoring of the isomerization process through UV-vis absorption #spectroscopy. With precise control over the light source and detailed kinetic modeling, the researchers achieved high accuracy in determining the quantum yields.
