Last weekend, 125,000 festival enthusiasts gathered at the Floriade terrain near Hoofddorp for 𝗠𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘆𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱. During the 31st edition of the world's longest-running music festival, attendees enjoyed performances from more than 300 artists, including Yellow Claw, Charlotte de Witte, Kris Kross Amsterdam, and Outsiders. 𝗠𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘆𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱 entrusted Backbone with the technical design and production of two key areas: the 'Mystery Box' mainstage and the Pyramide Stage. In just 16 days, our team brought these areas to life, ready for visitors to immerse themselves in the world of 𝗠𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘆𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱. The main stage featured two gigantic hands holding up a mysterious "Mystery Box," symbolizing the festival's core values of peace, love, and mystery. When the box came to life, the audience could enjoy an explosion of energy and color through 3D video projections. Last Saturday, August 31st, 𝗦𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗹𝗮 𝗼𝗻 𝟳’𝘀 “𝗧𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗴𝘂 𝗔𝗸𝘂 𝗗𝗶” 𝗧𝗼𝘂𝗿 made its third stop in Pekanbaru, Sumatra. This time, Sheila on 7 performed for 20.000 attendees at the Rumbai Athletic Stadium, which had never been used for large-scale events. Like the previous two concerts, this was also the largest concert held in Pekanbaru, a city on the eastern side of Sumatra. Exactly one week ago, on Friday, August 23rd, the 15th edition of 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗹 𝗭𝗔𝗡𝗗 took place on the beach in Almere. Unlike last year's edition, the annual festival took two days this year! The event featured (mostly) sun, sand, cold drinks, and performances from Dutch artists like Roxy Dekker, Chef'Special, Guus Meeuwis, and BLØF, making 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗹 𝗭𝗔𝗡𝗗 a blast! The festival's organizer, Tribe Company, entrusted Backbone with the responsibility for the 2D and 3D drawings, overlay management, production management, and technical production. Because a large part of the main stage was built on the beach, the team needed to get the calculations and logistics in order. Our team required numerous trucks of plates, and keeping an eye on coastline changes was essential. Additionally, since the beach lacked a power supply, the team developed the necessary infrastructure to provide electricity. Finally, as the central train station is a considerable distance from the venue for festival-goers, Backbone created a safe and well-lit pathway to ensure easy access to and from the venue. Ett, två, tre, GÅ! If you think only the Dutch are great at cycling, don’t underestimate the Swedes. Last weekend, Gothenburg hosted the 𝗥𝗲𝗱 𝗕𝘂𝗹𝗹 𝗧𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗸𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗲𝗻, where Swedes competed with their custom-designed tandemcycles. Participants navigated a course that included a classic Swedish house, a balance bridge, and some challenging bumps. It wasn’t just about the bike design; competitors were also judged on speed, creativity, and performance. Backbone International took charge of the technical production and track design. Last weekend was all about partying hard at the 𝗗𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗯𝗲𝗹 𝗢𝘂𝘁𝗱𝗼𝗼𝗿 𝗙𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗹! Over three days, attendees could enjoy performances from various artists, including Paul Elstak, Outsiders, Warface, Brennan Heart, Devin Wild, and many others, spread across 30 stages. Backbone was responsible for the technical design, production, and overlay management, transforming a 40-hectare site, including 13 areas, such as the main stage and several others, like the Pussy Lounge-hosted stage, in just 19 days! For the last few weeks, guests have enjoyed serene, golden moments in the heart of Paris, thanks to Corona. With several unique locations throughout the city, people could relax on a beach, savor a cold drink, and dance the night away. Last night, 𝗦𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗹𝗮 𝗼𝗻 𝟳'𝘀 "𝗧𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗴𝘂 𝗔𝗸𝘂 𝗗𝗶" 𝗧𝗼𝘂𝗿 made its second stop in Makassar, South Sulawesi. With an overwhelming response from fans and limited availability of large-scale venues in the city, the tour team transformed an abandoned driving range at a sports center into a greenfield concert space. This presented a unique, fruitful challenge for the whole team involved. With meticulous planning, unwavering determination, and teamwork led by ANTARA SUARA and GOLDlive Indonesia, we successfully pulled off an unforgettable show, and our Backbone Indonesia team feels proud to be part of it. The audience was ecstatic, and the band delivered their most energetic performance. Rumors said it was the biggest concert ever held in the city(!!). Time flies by when you're having fun! Already three weeks ago, on July 20th, KEY from the K-pop band SHINee took the stage in Jakarta for his first solo Asia tour,' 𝗞𝗘𝗬𝗟𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗢𝗡: 𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗢𝗡 𝗔𝗦𝗜𝗔 𝗧𝗢𝗨𝗥,' in Jakarta. Fans gathered at The Kasablanka to enjoy the concert, where KEY delighted them with a setlist of 19 songs and even spoke a few words in Indonesian. Last weekend, the 𝗦𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗹𝗮 𝗼𝗻 𝟳' 𝗧𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗴𝘂 𝗔𝗸𝘂 𝗗𝗶' 𝗧𝗼𝘂𝗿 kicked off in Samarinda, Borneo, Indonesia. Stadium Palaran in Kalimantan Timur hosted its first large-scale event in 16 years (!!). The Yogyakarta-based band treated the fans with 21 songs full of joy and tears of happiness. The tour will continue through more cities ahead, such as Makassar, Pekanbaru, and Medan, and will conclude in Bandung. Our Backbone Indonesia team handles the technical consultancy and overlay management for this production.
