Sheltering in schools or hospitals won’t be possible for many of those returning to Northern Gaza amid the ceasefire, Bellingcat found that more than 80% of former shelters, identified in a November UN report, have been damaged or destroyed in a recent three-month-long military operation by the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF). Patrizia Schlosser discovered more than 30 images of herself online, pictured naked and in chains, in sexually explicit scenarios. But the imagery was all faked. Celebrities are often the target of deepfakes, but the technology can be used on anyone, creating convincing pornographic content with a single photo. The most notorious marketplace is MrDeepFakes, a website that hosts tens of thousands of videos and images, has more than 640,000 members, and receives millions of visits a month.
