    Will the Netherlands Remain a Leader in the Alternative Protein Market? 🌱 The Netherlands is set to lead the alternative proteins revolution, with the market projected to reach €10 billion by 2030. However, startups and scale-ups face significant challenges in scaling up. Today, Foodvalley NL and Invest-NL release the report, Enhancing the Ecosystem for Alternative Protein Innovation: Strategies for Scaling Success. The report identifies key obstacles such as limited facility access, high costs, and complex regulations. A national strategy, smart investments in shared facilities, and innovative financing can help overcome these barriers, positioning the Netherlands as a leader in food innovation and sustainability.     🚀 Brabant Joins Forces to Become Europe's Scale-Up Plant within Five Years! The future is plant-based. The transition to sustainable food systems is a crucial part of this. Provincie Noord-Brabant is joining hands to take a leading position in this transition over the coming years. The focus is on scaling up ingredients that make plant-based food delicious, nutritious, and affordable. At Bodec, we have been working on these important tasks and transitions for years. We have supported many companies in scaling up their (plant-based) food ingredients and are proud to contribute to Brabant's ambition. With our expertise, pilot and production facilities, we have successfully transformed numerous startups into scale-ups.     Last week, we had the pleasure of hosting The Protein Community (TPC) Acceleration Session at Bodec. Alongside a tour of Bodec's facilities, Frank presented on "Overcoming Challenges in Scaling Production of New Food Ingredients: Navigating Start-up Pitfalls and Pilot Plant Solutions" through various case studies. Other interesting speakers included: - Jeroen van den Boezem (NIRAS Nederland): Holistic Plant Design: The Foundation For Scaling Up - Cedric Verstraeten (revyve) | Fighting an uphill battle: Scaling Foodtech in the Netherlands - Raymond Beimers (Invest International) | Funding your International Upscaling Ambitions We want to thank all the attendees once again for their interest and input during the event, and of course, Foodvalley NL / TPC (Leo Koning en Suzan D'Rose) for their organization and support.     The students of Health Food Innovation Management (HFIM) recently visited Food Tech Brainport, an innovative network of food processing companies. This visit provided a unique opportunity to explore how novel food processing technologies can address food waste and enhance food quality. The students investigated the impact of radiomagnetic freezing on food texture, the use of membrane technology to separate bioactives like beta-carotene from carrot juice, and the effects of high-pressure processing on the taste and nutritional value of orange juice. The experience was invaluable for the students: they discovered that novel food processing technologies provide new opportunities to process, store and support the development of new food products leading to new initiatives that are revolutionising the way we think about food! 🥕 #UMfse #HealthFood #FoodTech #Brainport #MaastrichtUniversity
