The lock was officially inaugurated this morning with the symbolic push on the red button.   ➡️ The largest vessel calling the port of Ghent, MV Bregaglia, passed the new lock to discharge her cargo assisted by our #BoludaTowage fleet. 🚢 The new lock will make the port of Ghent even more accessible for the larger seagoing vessels. 📢🚢𝘽𝙤𝙡𝙪𝙙𝙖 𝙏𝙤𝙬𝙖𝙜𝙚 𝙖𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙩𝙨 𝙄𝙩𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙖𝙣 𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙨𝙝𝙞𝙥 𝙋𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙪𝙧𝙤 The Italian training ship ‘Palinuro’ sailed last Tuesday from the port of Valencia assisted by the hashtag #BoludaTowage fleet tugs VB SIDI and VB LLEVANT to continue its training cruise🚢. ➡Barely a week after the Japanese fleet arrived in the city, Valencia is once again a port of call for a training ship, this time from the Italian Navy. ➡The ‘Palinuro’ is a three-masted armed schooner, with 84 crew members, on which the sub-officers of the Italian Navy are trained. ➡Its figurehead represents the helmsman Palinuro, a character from Virgil's Aeneid to be entrusted by Aeneas with the task of guiding his ship to dry land during a storm. A historical first call of these ships at this port! 🚢 Both ships left Japan last May, with 190 cadets on board. The 143-metre training ship Kashima was designed in the 1990's specifically for these training missions. On board the JTS (Japan Training Squadron and Overseas Training Cruise) military band, which performs concerts in the cities that it visits to promote friendly ties with Japan🎻. ➡ The Japanese squadron departed yesterday after its stopover in the Valencian dock, heading for Hamburg and will be back in Japan next November.
