Gisteren vond de Tour de Bunzl weer plaats, waar ruim 70 collega’s van onze werkmaatschappijen zich op de pedalen zetten voor een fantastisch doel. 🚴♂️🌟 In het prachtige, heuvelachtige Valkenburg fietsten we voor de Vereniging Angelman Syndroom Nederland. Deze organisatie zet zich in voor onderzoek naar deze zeldzame aandoening en organiseert waardevolle bijeenkomsten voor mensen met het Angelman Syndroom en hun naasten. Dankzij de inzet van onze inkopers en de gulle donaties van onze leveranciers, konden we na een flinke sportieve inspanning een indrukwekkende cheque van maar liefst € 40.818,- overhandigen aan Robert Heethaar, voorzitter van de stichting. Een bijzonder moment, zeker met collega Lycke S. en haar dochter Saar, die zelf het Angelman Syndroom heeft, daar. ❤️ Tour de Bunzl is een jaarlijks event dat Bunzl organiseert waarbij collega's van onze werkmaatschappijen zich opmaken voor een fietstocht naar keuze. Wielrennen 75 of 90 km of een offroad e-mountainbike route. Een win-win situatie voor allen: het goede doel van dat jaar en natuurlijk onze collega's die uitgedaagd worden om sportief bezig te zijn, maar daarbij natuurlijk ook gewoon een gezellige dag met elkaar beleven. Today we report our 2024 Half Year results. This is already a record year for Bunzl in terms of committed spend on acquisitions, with over £650 million spent already year-to-date, and a strong increase in operating margin to 8.0% vs 7.4% in H1 2023 driving an increase in our full year profit expectations. We are also announcing a new three-year capital allocation commitment to spend around £700 million per year, allocated primarily towards value-accretive acquisitions and, if required, returns of capital to shareholders. Alongside this, we are beginning Bunzl’s first share buyback programme, starting with an initial buyback of £250 million to be completed before our 2024 full year results, at which we expect to announce a further buyback for 2025 of around £250 million.
