🚛 Zero-emission zones are coming! What does this mean for you? Are you about to buy a new van? Then keep this in mind! Dutch municipalities may soon introduce zero-emission zones. Only vans and trucks that do not exhaust emissions will be allowed in these areas. ⚡ Do you already have a van? Then you will only be allowed to enter such a zone if your van is electric and emits no harmful substances. 🗓️ Good to know: municipalities must announce zero-emission zones at least 4 years in advance, giving you enough time to prepare! 💡 Tip: The government helps you get started with a subsidy of up to €5,000 for electric vehicles. This is the SEBA subsidy! Important: These zero-emission zones (also called ZE zones) are completely separate from environmental zones. 👷♂️ For whom? Entrepreneurs with trucks and vans. 🗓️ When? Then you must take fall protection measures. This is important to prevent accidents and ensure safety. But when exactly is fall protection mandatory and what do you need to do? 📏When is fall protection mandatory? • When working at 2.5 metres or higher. • At heights below 2.5 metres, but there is an increased danger of falling. • On surfaces that move or can start moving. 🔧 How do you offer fall protection? • Use secured scaffolding, aerial platforms, or work floors. • Place fences, railings, and guardrails. • Secure openings in floors and walls. • If the above measures are not possible, provide your employess safety equipment such as safety nets, harness belts, and cords. 🚧 Risk inventory and evaluation Do a risk inventory and evaluation to assess the risks of falling for you and your employees. 💼 What should you do in case of a workplace accident? As an employer in the Netherlands, you want your staff to work safely. But sometimes work-related accidents do happen. When they do happen, what steps should you take? 🔹 What is a work-related accident? A work-related accident (industrial accident) is an accident that happens in the workplace or during working hours and results in damage to an employee's health. 🔹 When should you make a report? You must report an industrial accident immediately to the Netherlands Labour Authority (NLA) if your employee: - is hospitalised; - suffers permanent injuries, such as blindness or amputation; - dies. Please note: temporary workers and freelancers are also covered by this reporting obligation. 🔹 How do you report a work-related accident? - In case of (potential) permanent injury or hospitalisation: via 0800-5151 or online. - In case of death: call 0800-5151 directly. 🔹 Cooperate with the investigation It is important to leave the site of the accident untouched. After the report, the NLA may decide to conduct an accident investigation, in which everyone is obliged to cooperate. 🔹 Accident registration You must keep a record of all accidents, especially those that result in more than three days of sick leave. 🔹 Damages You may have to pay damages to the employee that was injured. Unfortunately, not always positive, as some businesses are breaking the rules. As a business owner, it's important to know the laws and rules on online sales. What is dropshipping? Dropshipping means you sell products online without holding any physical stock. The supplier handles the stock and shipping, but you as a seller are still responsible. How does it work? You sell products like smartphones or tools on your webshop or online platform. When a customer makes a purchase, you order the product from your supplier who then ships it directly to the customer. ✅ Pros: - No need to buy and store stock. - No staff needed for packing and shipping. ❌ Cons: - You are responsible for the buyer receiving the product even though you do not ship it yourself. - You are liable for damage caused by products that are not safe.
