𝐀𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐨𝐨𝐤𝐬 💡 📚 As part of Young CEDA, I got to organize an event at Port of Rotterdam, and it turned out to be a fantastic afternoon for the 20+ Young Professionals. What did we do? 💥 8 lucky price winners got to sail on Port of Rotterdam's survey vessel and got to experience first hand what surveying in the port looks like 💥 We received a presentation about the dredging and surveying work done in the port and about PRISMA, their Programme for Innovative Sediment Management 💥 Tour of the Dredging Desk and Harbour Control Centre The event couldn't have been as successful as it was without the help of our hosts at Port of Rotterdam, so a big thank you goes out to them! #CEDA #YoungCEDA #PortofRotterdam

Another great Young CEDA event! Yesterday we had the opportunity to get a look in to the dredging desk and Harbor Control Center of Port of Rotterdam. It was a great event with a great amount of attendees. Also it was very nice to see the term Nautical Depth determination being used in the presentation. It is great to see clients of Stema Systems that see the added value of the Rheotune, Silas and EBP systems! 𝐍𝐚𝐦𝐞: Luka Jaksic 𝐁𝐨𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐞: September 2023 𝐎𝐜𝐜𝐮𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: Researcher/Advisor at Deltares 𝐘𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠: 3 years My interest in dredging began during my work on projects in the Port of Rotterdam, where we investigated the effects of climate change on the port and explored innovations in sustainable sediment management. 🌍 While I don’t work for a dredging company, the dredging sector plays a crucial role in many of the projects I’m involved in, from offshore wind development to Building with Nature. I joined Young CEDA to connect with young professionals in the dredging sector, learn about their perspectives, and exchange ideas. 💡 At Young CEDA, I’m passionate about sharing my perspective on the importance of nature-inclusive engineering. 🌱 For example, during our offshore wind event last year, we talked about the ecological impacts and innovations in this field. Dredging is relevant to many disciplines, from navigation and flood defense to ecology and the energy sector. I encourage everyone to participate in Young CEDA events and contribute their unique perspectives on the dredging industry that connects us all. 𝐍𝐚𝐦𝐞: Jan-Berend Koster 𝐁𝐨𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐞: 2020 𝐎𝐜𝐜𝐮𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: Superintendent at Baggerbedrijf De Boer – Dutch Dredging 𝐘𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠: 5   My first entry with CEDA goes back to 2016 when I attended an ‘’Clubavond’’ of the Dutch Commission. After some years in the commission of Young CEDA the time was come for Mark to quit his position as Chair and handed over the reins to me.  I have always been fascinating by the dredging industry, with exciting projects and amazing equipment. It’s important to help young people entering the field to feel at home and hit the ground running. My ambition for Young CEDA is to organise activities, and events, that will enable our young professionals to get to know each other and share their knowledge. 👷♀️ 👷♂️ My aim of Young CEDA is to provide a youthful platform for members all of the world. Young CEDA actively participates in the organization of the CEDA Dredging Days, seminars and national meetings but also organizes its own activities.
