𝐍𝐚𝐦𝐞: Jan-Berend Koster 𝐁𝐨𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐞: 2020 𝐎𝐜𝐜𝐮𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: Superintendent at Baggerbedrijf De Boer – Dutch Dredging 𝐘𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠: 5   My first entry with CEDA goes back to 2016 when I attended an ‘’Clubavond’’ of the Dutch Commission. After some years in the commission of Young CEDA the time was come for Mark to quit his position as Chair and handed over the reins to me.  I have always been fascinating by the dredging industry, with exciting projects and amazing equipment. It’s important to help young people entering the field to feel at home and hit the ground running. My ambition for Young CEDA is to organise activities, and events, that will enable our young professionals to get to know each other and share their knowledge. 👷♀️ 👷♂️ My aim of Young CEDA is to provide a youthful platform for members all of the world. Young CEDA actively participates in the organization of the CEDA Dredging Days, seminars and national meetings but also organizes its own activities. It was there that I discovered the incredible things we can achieve in and on the water. Two years later, I joined Royal IHC, where I now have the opportunity to blend my passion for knowledge exchange with my background in hospitality and planning. Young CEDA is a great platform to learn more about the dredging industry together with other enthusiastic Young Professionals. 💥 𝑰𝒏𝒕𝒓𝒐𝒅𝒖𝒄𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒀𝒐𝒖𝒏𝒈 𝑪𝑬𝑫𝑨 𝑪𝒐𝒎𝒎𝒊𝒔𝒔𝒊𝒐𝒏 💥 Our next board member has a hands-on mentality and never fails to bring his sense of humor to a board meeting. 😃   𝐍𝐚𝐦𝐞: Rick Bekkers 𝐁𝐨𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐞: January 2023 𝐎𝐜𝐜𝐮𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: Design & Proposal Engineer Dredging at Damen Shipyards 𝐘𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠: 8 years   During my mechanical engineering studies, I kickstarted my career with an internship at Damen Dredging Equipment, the dedicated dredging yard of Damen Shipyards. Here, my interest for the dredging industry started and showed me that it’s a perfect mix of mechanical, civil, and maritime engineering. ⚙   Currently, I am a Design & Proposal Engineer for Trailing Suction Hopper Dredgers, where I design vessels and provide technical support to our sales department. It is an international orientated job and let me connect with clients from all over the world. 🌏   What excites me most is that we are working on vessels that significantly impact the world by prevent flooding, keep harbours accessible and provide materials for the construction industry. Designing these vessels gives me the opportunity to make them more sustainable! 🌱   As an active member of Young CEDA, I enjoy connecting young professionals from various companies by showing the exciting activities we do on a daily basis.
