Looking back on a very successful edition of our annual ALM Conference: 'ALM in a changing (pension) world'. Our premier event was completely sold out, with Irma Willemsen having to squeeze in the last of 100 participants! About CFA Society Netherlands CFA Society Netherlands arose from the merger between CFA Society Netherlands and VBA investment professionals. The association has over 2,200 members in the Netherlands and shows strong growth. The association is affiliated to the international network of CFA Institute, a non-profit organization with more than 148,000 members worldwide in 167 countries, including 142,000 CFA charterholders and 148 affiliated associations. The association has a wide range of professional training, including the internationally recognized vocational training for Chartered Financial Analyst, the postgraduate VU-VBA course 'Investment Management', the postgraduate course 'Risk Management for Financial Institutions', the CIPM training focused on performance measurement and general CFA Foundations training. The association has a wide range of possibilities for maintaining knowledge and skills and keeps a register of the permanent education of its members. The CFA Research Challenge Benelux has kicked off and *we need experts to mentor and/or grade the incoming analyst reports*! A great opportunity to give back to the profession and help develop future talent! In the competition University students learn best practices in equity research and how to apply them to real-world scenarios. This year's company of focus will be Just Eat Takeaway! I’m incredibly proud and grateful to share that CFA Society Netherlands has been awarded the Outstanding CFA Society by CFA Institute, handed out by Margaret Franklin, CFA, at the global Society Leadership Conference in Montreal last week! This prestigious recognition is a testament to our strong presence, both in our local market and across borders. The jury highlighted several key initiatives that showcase our Society’s thought leadership, including our blueprint on alternatives under the Dutch pension reform, proprietary research published in the quarterly #VBAJournaal, and our important work on finfluencers and outreach, along with numerous topical columns in industry magazines. A major highlight was our pivotal role in introducing the CFA Institute DEI Code to Europe. We co-developed the European version of the #DEICode, creating awareness and generating urgency in The Netherlands. This led to the successful launch of the European DEI Code and securing PGGM as the first European signatory. The recognition also celebrated our strategic initiatives, including our new partnership strategy and the professionalization of volunteer management, both of which have been key to our success.
