Welcome SaXcell As Cibutex, we seek to represent the entire lifecycle of business textiles. Therefore, we are pleased to announce that Enschede (NL) based SaXcell has joined our community. SaXcell is the name of the company, the process and the product: a high-quality pulp made from post-use cotton textiles, spun into SaXcell Fiber by Birla Cellulose (Mumbai, India) via a Lyocell process. The SaXcell Fibers have an outstanding and consistent quality. SaXcell started as an academic project in 2011 by researchers from the Saxion University of Applied Science. In 2025 they plan to set up a Pulp Development Center and a new production facility in Enschede (NL). Texcare International Every 4 years the textile care industry comes together in Frankfurt, Germany. Due to the COVID-break, it has been 8 years since the latest Texcare International convention. So expectations for this years event, to be held from 6 to 9 November, are high. The over 300 exhibitors will attract thousands of visitors to renew connections, see innovations and to prepare investment decisions in the laundry, dry-cleaning and textile service industry.   ‘Circularity’ is one of the 4 ‘top topics’ of the 2024 edition of Texcare. So naturally, Cibutex will be there. We were kindly invited in the stand of ESTA, A11. Visiting a friend This week we visited the Kingpins Show in ‘Sugarcity’ near Amsterdam. This huge and inspiring event in the denim (fashion) industry takes place in New York, Hangzou, Hong Kong and Amsterdam. Interesting to see how the focus of the exhibitors is apparently on responsible choices, natural materials and eco-friendliness. Sustainability as a business model! On the bright side: we noticed an increase in the use of post consumer waste in the fabrics. Lots of recycled fibers and also re-used fabrics. We met designers who are able to think past the end-of-life stage of their products, without compromising creativity and comfort. But Cibutex is in business textiles. So what is the link? Well, we promote integral, cyclic thinking in our sector. To use materials and to design products in such a way that they can easily be recycled or reused further down the lifecycle. We are not in the jeans business, but we can learn a thing or two from our blue friends. Welcome eeden!   The number of companies taking the transition to a new, sustainable and circular business model serious, grows every day. One of them is eeden, based in Münster, Germany. This company uses ‘Green Chemistry’ to recover cellulose from cotton rags and reduces polyester end-of-life textiles to its basic building blocks. The endproducts of eeden can be used to produce new, high quality fibres. A great contribution to the textile-to-textile philosophy of Cibutex.
