The jury was highly impressed by their incredibly innovative approach and their already established, robust supply chain. Even before securing the win, team Fuwa expressed their gratitude for the ClimateLaunchpad journey: “With the support and guidance from ClimateLaunchpad experts, we have been able to identify opportunities for sustainable growth and enhance our strategies to create a positive environmental impact. 🎉 Bio-cm is our winner of the Regional Final Europe! Whoop whoop! 🏆🥂 They wowed the jury with their innovative solution to repurposed agricultural waste into insulation boards for conventional building systems. Their mission? To add value to invaluable waste through their unique fibre extraction process, significantly cutting carbon emissions while providing extra income for farmers. 🌾🌍 The jury was highly impressed, not only by the innovation but also by the potential impact on the construction industry. "Renovation projects are massive right now, and the materials currently used are very harmful. Bio-CM offers a great alternative, and it's fantastic that they are helping farmers in the process," said the jury. They also appreciated the clarity and honesty of the pitch. 🎤✨ For Bio-CM, taking part in ClimateLaunchpad has been an incredible journey. "ClimateLaunchpad was key in shaping our idea into a feasible business model, thanks to their valuable expertise and guidance," they shared. In our second Regional Final, start-ups from Africa, Asia, and the Pacific are battling for the top spot. This final showcases the remarkable transformation of waste into beautiful product, alongside some impressive technological advancements. Here are the six finalists: Energetic 🌬️develops and manufacts innovative wind turbines from A to Z. They integrate these turbines with cutting-edge solar technology to ensure consistent and reliable energy production for agricultural businesses and rural communities in off-grid areas of Egypt and Africa. Fuwa Biotech🍍 harnesses pineapple peels to produce biological enzyme cleaning solutions. Their sensitive products are designed for homes, babies, cars, and pets, providing an eco-friendly cleaning alternative. Eco Nasi🌿 transforms cellulose-rich agricultural pulp waste into a high-quality vegan leather. This innovative bio-manufacturing process offers a sustainable alternative to plastic-derived leather, without a toxic production process and extreme water waste. AirX Carbon ♻️ produces the NetZero Pallet, an ecological pallet made from recycled agricultural waste. Designed for a circular economy, it protect potentially millions of trees a year, promoting sustainability in logistics. Greenmovement Energy 🌱 manufactures a low-carbon, lignocellulosic-based biomass known as the Woodie. The Woodie is made from organic waste materials such as alien invasive tree species and waste timber. #VerTechX 🍓utilises vertical farming techniques to produce ten times more strawberries while using just 10% of the normal water and chemicals. They also leverage collected data to advance scientific research, pushing the boundaries for a smarter, greener world. All participants will walk away with cash prizes (made possible by Irish Aid) and significant exposure, increasing their chances of attracting new investors.
