Version 4.0 of the CO₂ Performance Ladder requires companies to also report 𝗻𝗼𝗻-𝗖𝗢₂ 𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗴𝗮𝘀 𝗲𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀. 🤔 Why is that? 🌱 What will change? Of all 𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗴𝗮𝘀𝗲𝘀, CO₂ has by far the largest share on man-made global warming. But other greenhouse gases, such as methane and nitrous oxide, have a much greater impact on the greenhouse effect per kilogram of emissions. Was happy to moderate two panels at ADB’s 12th Business Opportunities Fair this week. We presented ADB’s Agriculture portfolio with US$15 billion active and $11 billion pipeline. On day 2 we opened with a panel on innovation. Our almost 1300 participants got to hear about procurement systems developments in Indonesia and the work going on in India for Maharashtra Metro. In addition we were thrilled to learn about SKAO’s carbon ladder being used in Europe. Our session closed with ADB Director Pederson speaking about sustainable procurement and the vision for carbon monitoring and measurement soon to come to an ADB bidding document near you. 🎥 Aftermovie Seminarie BENOR 2024! Op 29 augustus organiseerde de vzw BENOR haar jaarlijkse seminarie. Het thema van dit jaar, “De CO₂-Prestatieladder, naar een deugdzame integratie in het ecosysteem van de bouw”, trok veel volk. Hier volgt een terugblik op enkele van de boeiende onderwerpen die de hele ochtend werden besproken. In het prachtige kader van het Châtelain Brussels Hotel stonden duurzaamheid en innovatie centraal in de debatten, onderwerpen die de verschillende presentatoren en panelleden die we het genoegen (en de kans) hadden om naar te luisteren, goed beheersten! 👷🏾 How the 𝗖𝗢₂ 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗹𝗮𝗱𝗱𝗲𝗿 works in 𝗽𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲? 🏹 According to facade builder Scheldebouw B.V., known for leading facades in London, Eastern Europe and Scandinavia, among others, the CO₂ Performance ladder is ‘a practical tool that allows you to take steps towards your goals in a very structured way.’ 🧱 And that paid off: The first major project using sustainably produced aluminium yielded 𝗺𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗖𝗢₂ 𝘀𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀. ↘️ ‘By using 𝘀𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝘆 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘂𝗺 alone, we saved no less than 773 tonnes of CO₂, which amounts to a CO₂ saving of 20 per cent for a typical facade element.
