As the week draws to a close, I would like to share with you one of its highlights. On the 22nd of October, "the innovative heart of Europe was beating in Athens". A matchmaking event took place in the context of the #SPIN4EIC flagship initiative by the European Innovation Council and SMEs Executive Agency (EISMEA), where five top-notch innovators (#EUeic beneficiaries) had the opportunity to pitch their cutting-edge solutions to worldwide leading companies from the maritime and shipping sector. Several trailblazing technologies and ideas were presented during the event and a truly essential networking session followed. The main takeaway is that both industry experts & professionals as well as technology providers seem committed to reducing the environmental impact of the maritime sector and securing a more sustainable future. It was a great honor for the Greek Team (Dionysios Pelekis, Maria Kampa, Maria Niniatsoudi, Egli Rrokaj and Christos Michalis) of Corvers Commercial & Legal Affairs to be part of this event and for our organization as a whole to be an implementing partner of the #SPIN4EIC Strategic Innovation Procurement Programme. 📈 In theory, technological advancement has neutralised many threats through modern tools. But is this really the case? Authorities and institutions responsible for security warn that many of technological solutions don’t meet their needs. ✋ The commercial cooperation model between the buyer and the product supplier often doesn’t allow for proper adaptation of systems to the specific requirements of the end user. In a new article available on the PPHS website, we present solutions to these problems. Pre-Commercial Procurement (PCP) is an approach supported and partially funded by the European Commission. Every journey, even the most exciting, must come to an end. Today marks the final day of the #SHIELD4CROWD project implementation. 🎉 We’ve already summarised our efforts in laying the foundations for future PCP. Now, it’s time to say thank you to everyone who shaped SHIELD4CROWD! Our team can be proud of what we've achieved, but it wouldn’t have been possible without the involvement of many stakeholders, the User Observatory Group members, Public Buyers, and industry players who greatly contributed to the work and impacted the final results. 🙌 A big thank you to all who followed our online channels, interacted, and showed interest in the final outputs. Knowing that SHIELD4CROWD’s scope is important to you made our mission truly meaningful. 🫂 The past 12 months have been intense and the tasks quite challenging. However, everything was made easier by our wonderful team of experienced professionals coordinated by Armand Raudin and his team from Groupe SNCF.
