After last year's successful event, it is again time for Nordic Business Speed Dating! On Thursday October 17th, 2024, the DDCC will host the Nordic Business Speed Dating event in Amsterdam, where you have the opportunity to present your company and yourself to other participants. We are pleased to invite members of the Finnish and Norwegian chambers to participate as well, thereby expanding the possibilities to connect.   The format for this dynamic business speed dating will be a series of 2-minute sessions, where two individuals will sit face-to-face. Participants will each have one minute to showcase their expertise, share insights and make connections. Following each 2-minute session, participants will rotate to the next business date.   After approximately one hour of business speed dating, we will continue the conversations over drinks and snacks for further networking and relationship building. The program is: 16:00 Beer tasting and guided tour in the brewery of De Drie Ringen 17:00 A boat trip around the Eem with (0.0) beers, bubbles, soda and finger food 19:30 Arrival at the harbour in Amersfoort and end of event It’s all within walking distance of the train station, so you can travel by the train. The DDCC, along with other European chambers, is participating in a European Networking Cocktail kindly hosted by the law firm Loyens & Loeff. The event provides a great opportunity to network with professionals from other countries and markets and will take place on September 10th, 2024, from 18:00 to 21:00 CET. The Czecho-Slovakian, Danish, French, English, German, Italian, Norwegian, Polish and Swedish chambers are participating in the event. Make sure to register for the event via your own chamber. Last week, the unveiling ceremony in Utrecht for the restored replica of the larger Jelling Stone took place. The replica was placed in Utrecht 88 years ago and had long been in need of restauration. After thorough cleaning, it now stands as bright as it did in 1936, when the former Utrecht University student and Dane, Gustav Lind, gifted the stone to the Utrecht University in celebration of the 300-year anniversary of the university. The original Jelling Stones, located in the small Danish town of Jelling, date back to the 10th century and mark Denmark’s transition from Viking paganism to Christianity. The larger stone, replicated in Utrecht, boasts the earliest known written reference to the name "Denmark”. The unveiling ceremony served as an occasion to celebrate the strong cultural ties between Denmark 🇩🇰 and the Netherlands 🇳🇱, with speeches from The Mayor of Utrecht, Sharon Dijksma, Rector of Utrecht University, Henk Kummeling, and the Ambassador of Denmark to the Netherlands, Jarl Frijs-Madsen. The event was jointly organised by the Utrecht University, The Embassy of Denmark in the Netherlands and the DDCC and the unveiling was followed by a lively reception. 📷  Michelle Frazer
