Over ons

DeepEye democratizes eye-tracking technology by using standard webcams and cutting-edge AI to help researchers record eye movement data quickly and at scale. DeepEye strives for similar performance as expensive hardware eye-trackers, but replaces hardware with software, empowering researchers to collect large-scale datasets from diverse populations of participants in a matter of days, not years. DeepEye is built by eye-tracking researchers for all researchers who want to use eye-tracking. Contact us for more information at artem@deepeye.nl

  • It was a great honor to present DeepEye to the community of eye-tracking researchers at ETRA2024!

Time runs fast. That's a fact. It's almost a week behind the ETRA 2024 conference. This post is to publicly thank Arzu Çöltekin, with whom I co-organised the tutorial session on Eye-Tracking for Colour Perception! Greetings and warm thanks go to all participants and the fantastic speakers: Artem Belopolsky presented DeepEye, an outstanding webcam eye-tracking project! Arzu Çöltekin provided insights into applied perception for design supported by eye movement studies to improve colour use on visualisations. Aryaman Taore talked about his method of detecting colour vision deficiencies and drawing lines for further development with tablet integration! Beatrice Sarti spoke of Spatial mechanism, Retinex and Spatial Color Algorithms for HVS (Human Visual System). Last, a big thank-you goes to Dr. Mohamed Khamis, the General Chair of ETRA 2024, and his fabulous team!

  • 🔍 Exciting Preliminary Findings from Our Latest Consumer Decision-Making Study! We're thrilled to share an update from DeepEye's recent collaboration with VU Behavioral Lab, where DeepEye's cutting-edge webcam eye-tracking technology was used to study consumer behaviors in inclusive shopping environments (together with Laurens Stuurman, Yerong Zhang, Jiska Eelen, Iina Ikonen, Francesca Sotgiu, Marketing with Purpose @ VU Amsterdam) Study Overview: With over 200 participants measured in just 3 weeks, our focus was on understanding how consumer attention varies across different model sizes in online shopping. Here's what we found in our (very) initial analysis: Attention Dynamics: Female shoppers were observed to spend significantly less time fixating on larger models (sizes L and XL) compared to smaller models (sizes M and S). Early Fixation: Interestingly, XL models tend to attract attention earlier in the viewing process, despite less overall time spent fixating on them. These findings seem to suggest that while larger models initially attract attention, consumers devote more cognitive processing to smaller models. Why This Matters: The ability to rapidly analyze and derive meaningful insights from large-scale eye-tracking data showcases the potential of DeepEye technology in real-world applications. This speed and efficiency in data processing enable us to understand consumer behavior more dynamically and in greater detail than ever before. Stay tuned for more in-depth analyses as we continue to explore this rich dataset and uncover deeper consumer insights. 🌐 Follow DeepEye for updates on how our technology is making eye-tracking research quicker and more insightful.

🌟 Exciting Update from DeepEye and VU Behavioral Lab Collaboration! 🌟 In just three weeks, our collaboration has propelled forward with impressive results: 1. Rapid Development and Data Collection: Leveraging DeepEye technology, we swiftly programmed the experiment for Yerong Zhang's study and gathered data from over 200 participants, transforming a standard computer lab into a state-of-the-art eye-tracking facility. 2. Conference Submission: Our findings are compelling; we've already submitted an abstract to a renowned conference (stay tuned for further updates). 3. 📊 DeepEye's Benchmarks: Here are the benchmarks you've been curious about: Accuracy: 1 cm (0.88 degrees) Precision: 0.68 cm (0.56 degrees) These measurements, taken from 212 participants at a screen distance of approximately 70 cm without the use of a chinrest, where 1 cm converts to about 0.82 degrees of visual angle. These benchmarks place DeepEye on par with high-end laboratory eye-trackers. 🔍 Interested in a Pilot? At the heart of DeepEye is its ability to collect eye-tracking data quickly and on a large scale. If you're considering integrating eye-tracking technology into your research or product testing, don't hesitate to reach out. We’re excited to explore how DeepEye can support your needs.
