Just 3 years ago, we've teamed up with Air Liquide to put a clever idea to the test: adding a splash of oxygen to irrigation water. We call it the Oxygen Boost. And guess what—it's a game-changer! 🥒 Climont cucumbers delivered 1.4 kg/m² more, which means 2-3 extra cucumbers per m²! 🥒 E2353 cucumbers chipped in with an extra 0.5 kg/m²—roughly one more cucumber per m². 🥒 That’s a 10% bump in yield for the Climont variety. 🥒 Plus, we’ve seen better root growth and healthier plants. The best part is that there is no compromise on quality—just more cucumbers! 🌿 What’s next? 🌱 It’s a wrap for the Discovery Field Days 2024! 🌿 This week was all about (re)building relationships and sharing valuable insights across our three locations in the Netherlands: Twisk, Voorst, and Hydro in Enkhuizen. In Twisk, our demo fields showcased lettuce, endive, spinach, and rucola. Visitors gained insights into how Bremia impacts the W-EU leafy market and learned about our efforts to incorporate Bremia resistance into various crop segments—followed by a delicious Bremia lunch! 🥗 In Voorst, we celebrated 30 years of Vitalis with a look at our extensive organic open-field assortment, Bremia conferences and interactive pumpkin sessions. Visitors took the Hexagon tour to explore our organic breeding milestones and how we embrace nature’s diversity! At our Hydroponics facility in Enkhuizen, our new greenhouse features state-of-the-art systems and 67 trials this year, continuing to help us deliver better solutions for our growers.
