🌍 A New Definition of Obesity 🌟 BMI has been the standard measurement for diagnosing obesity, but it’s not enough. Obesity is more than weight—it's about excess abdominal fat disrupting hormones and the immune system. A global commission of 58 experts (published in The Lancet) now says we must consider fat distribution alongside BMI for a better diagnosis. 🚫 Stigma makes things worse—it stops people from seeking care and overlooks how genetics, biology, and the environment play big roles. This new approach could transform obesity care worldwide.
