💻 Incidents, like the Global IT Outage, can occur in a connected world. Disruption at one stage in a digital supply chain can have a ripple effect.     We can see a tangible impact across the globe, from aviation to banking and healthcare. It highlights the critical need for organizations to take cyber resilience seriously, and ensure they have an incident management plan in place should situations like this occur.    Our Cyber Incident Response Planning Guide is a valuable resource that can help your organization build greater cyber resilience.  You can download our guide here: https://bit.ly/4aCEER3  🔎 Organizations impacted by the outage should read the remediation advice issued by CrowdStrike on its support portal: https://lnkd.in/g4g3F2Su

💡 Wat is de impact van een software storing?   Afgelopen dagen stonden volop in het teken van de software storing van afgelopen vrijdag en de gevolgen hiervan. Geïnteresseerd wat Fox-IT hierover te melden heeft? Onze collega Christo Butcher verscheen in meerdere media.  https://lnkd.in/e-wbaG2J https://lnkd.in/ex5Jimhm

Helping executives protect their organizations against real cyber threats | Executive consultant at Fox-IT | Data driven enterprise strategies connected to the rapidly evolving cyber threat landscape

Great working with Nando, Youssef, Milo and others at the NOS, the Dutch national broadcasting foundation, to convey the right message to the country after the global CrowdStrike outage on Friday. Here's my summary: Things can break. That’s obviously true for IT things, even for the foundational things we rely on like OSes and security tools. People work hard to stop things breaking, and things like OSes and security tools don’t break often. That’s good, of course. But it’s also bad, because it leads to us relying on them working. And that makes us vulnerable. The longer things don’t break, the more we forget things can break, and the less prepared we are for when things do break. So we must not forget: things can break, even those things we rely on to always work. Easily said, but where’s the right balance? Can’t prepare for everything because that’s too expensive. How far should we go? Well that depends on the business. It’s very different for a beer brewery that gets ransomwared, but has enough stock to keep on delivering for months, versus an airport where blue screens of death cause flights to be cancelled right away. This is risk management. The real stuff, not checkboxes and spreadsheets. CrowdStrike showed us how important this is. But there is another reason: geopolitics. Sometimes things break unintentionally, like the CrowdStrike debacle. And sometimes things are broken very intentionally, when adversaries actively work at breaking them. Prepare for both!

CrowdStrike has confirmed that the issue relating to a recent content update has been 'identified, isolated and a fix has been deployed' and they are working with customers that have been impacted. https://lnkd.in/gFQmuh7z If you are you a customer who has been impacted by the incident, visit the CrowdStrike support portal for further information and updates. https://lnkd.in/g5d9guFU 📡 Michael M., CEO, NCC Group comments: "Incidents of this nature do occur in a connected world that is reliant on technology. Disruption at one stage in a digital supply chain can have a ripple effect all the way throughout it. We’ve seen this today, with the incident having a tangible impact across the globe, from aviation to banking and healthcare. It highlights the critical need for organisations to take cyber resilience seriously, and ensure they have an incident management plan in place should situations like this occur. Impacted organisations should, if they have not already, take immediate action and follow the remediation advice issued by CrowdStrike on its support portal." #cybersecurity #nccgroup #foxit #digitalsupplychain

📌 Get Ready for the EU Cyber Resilience Act 📌   The Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) will reshape cybersecurity standards for digital products sold in the EU.   Manufacturers, developers, and vendors must meet CRA requirements before the product can be put on the market in the EU. Products considered "important" will need to comply with relevant standards or undergo third-party assessments, while a few "highly critical" products will require mandatory EU certification.   Non-compliance with the CRA could lead to substantial fines, so it's crucial to start integrating these security considerations into your product development cycles now!   Read our full blog by Verona Johnstone-Hulse to dive deeper into the CRA and learn how to prepare your organisation for these impending changes. https://bit.ly/3WenkgM   #CyberResilienceAct #EUCompliance #CyberPolicy #CyberStandards

🏆 Milestone Achievement: Fox-IT Leads the Way in SOC-CMM Certification 🏆   We are thrilled to announce that Fox-IT (part of NCC Group) has been awarded the highest level of SOC Capability & Maturity Model certification, setting a global precedent as the first company to successfully complete a third-party audit by LRQA based on the SOC-CMM framework.   This framework, which started as scientific research, has evolved to become the defacto standard for measuring capability maturity in Security Operations Centers. Which in its place can be used to compare services and have assurance on the expected delivery quality.   This certification is not just a badge of honor; it’s a testament to our commitment to excellence and our relentless pursuit of enhancing security operations. Over recent months, our dedicated team, in collaboration with LRQA (Pieter van Ooijen) and the expert guidance of Rob van Os, has been meticulously piloting the official certification process based on the SOC Capability & Maturity Model (SOC-CMM).   The successful completion of this rigorous certification by a renowned third-party assessor like LRQA has culminated in the highest accolade for Fox-IT. Today, Jelle van Hengel had the privilege of having the certification officially presented to Fox-IT by Rob van Os & Jurgen Van Dueren den Hollander.   Jelle van Hengel, Manager Operations at Fox-IT: "This certification is an attestment towards the high quality we deliver. The extensive certification process has ensured us that we deliver MXDR Services in a way that ties into customer risk based on risk and threats gathered by our strong Threat Intelligence capability. The pilot of this certification scheme marks an important milestone within the market of SOC services."   We’re proud to lead the charge in risk-driven security operations, and we remain committed to maintaining the highest standards of security for our clients.   #FoxIT #SOCCMM #Certification #CyberSecurity #Innovation #IndustryLeaders
