🍓Can we successfully grow strawberries year-round in greenhouses? That’s exactly what we're exploring in a trial at Delphy ISFC, which we recently visited. At this location, we’re experimenting with growing strawberries under LED lighting.   Here's what we’re eager to learn: 💡How to optimise high-tech strawberry cultivation with stone wool and LED lighting 💧The best water and nutrient management for optimal growth 📈Techniques for achieving higher yield and fruit quality with more efficient resource use   By combining what we’ve learned from previous trials with new techniques, we see great potential for year-round strawberry cultivation in greenhouses. Moreover, you can establish a vertical farm wherever you want, regardless of climate or soil conditions,” said Wageningen University & Research (WUR) professor Leo Marcelis (as quoted by Innovation Origins) at Sky High Day last week at WUR. 🥗 Like greenhouses, vertical farms are a piece of the puzzle for sustainably feeding the world’s growing population in light of climate change and soil degradation. During the event, industry experts came together to discuss the future of vertical farming.   💡As part of the "Greenhouses vs. Vertical Farming" panel, Grodan Cultivation Specialist Federico Puksic shared his insights. “Most of the knowledge gained in greenhouses can be used in vertical farms," he noted. "Both systems share similar substrate requirements.
