The University of Nebraska-Lincoln is nearly finished building the Klosterman Feedlot Innovation Center at the UNL Eastern Nebraska Research Extension and Education Center. When completed, it will be one of the largest commercial-sized feedlot research facility at a university setting in the world! Featuring the latest innovations, a commercial-scale feedlot and an animal handling facility will be used in teaching, research and extension efforts by the Nebraska Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources . With the Klopfenstein Feed Technology complex the university wants to study how individual animals respond to specific feed, feed additives and other inputs. The RIC2Discover consists of a feed-weigh trough combined with an intelligent feeding gate to gather individual animal data regarding feed intake. The RIC2Discover is one of the featuring innovations in the Klopfenstein Feed Technology complex. With forty RIC2Discover systems the university can collect a lot of data for their studies. Thank you University of Nebraska-Lincoln for your trust. We cannot wait for the open house this Spring. There is a lot 2Discover. #animalnutrition #farming #cattle

Another super nice project finished this month in the USA! The University of Wisconsin-Platteville installed a state-of-the-art RIC2Discover system with 24 RIC feed-weigh troughs in their dairy research barn. The university is very proud to have this equipment in the dairy barn, to be able to do individual feed intake and feed intake behavior research. This project was supported by the Dairy Innovation Hub. #DairyResearch #AnimalNutrition #Dairy

Since 2018 ACBM (Associacao Criadores Bovinos Mertolengos) in Evora Portugal, is using very successfully, a RIC system for the individual feed intake research for the performance testing of their growing animals. Because of the increasing demand for individual animal performance data, ACBM recently increased their RIC system with 9 additional RIC2Discover feed-weigh troughs and upgraded the complete installation to the new state of the art RIC2Discover Apollo software.
