To give you an insight into our procurement process, we source and track all of our recycled aluminium from the UK, so we know exactly where it's come from. Using recycled aluminium has been critical in helping us to reach our carbon neutrality target by 2030 as the process of recycling aluminium itself takes significantly less energy compared to producing the metal from raw materials. The benefits of using aluminium to build your data centre include: - It helps to stop your servers from overheating meaning your IT equipment will last longer - It's a lightweight material that can be moulded to suit any shape or size data centre. It is also a highly durable material and resistant to corrosion, which is crucial for long-term performance, extending its lifespan. - Aluminium is infinitely recyclable. This makes it an ideal material for a circular economy, ensuring that our HAC/CACs can be recycled, reused or repurposed at the end of their lifecycle. - Recycled aluminium requires up to 95% less energy to product compared to using virgin aluminium. This energy efficiency means lower carbon emissions, as less energy is required to produce the components. As part of our target to reach zero emissions by 2030, we're looking to install solar panels on the roof of our Vulcan site.
