Have you read GP Bullhound's new quantum technology report yet? It looks at where we from the perspective of investors considering getting involved. It's always interesting to see what people outside quantum make of its progress. And it's always worth reading GP Bullhound's reports on tech trends and developments. So it's worth taking note of what they make of where quantum is. "Now is the time to take it seriously," author Callum Stewart, PhD of the firm writes. How can the health and life sciences sectors embrace quantum technologies? Our Pavel Kalinin posed this question at Quantum Effects in Stuttgart recently, when he moderated a panel on how to accelerate commercial applications of quantum tech in the health and life science sectors. Here are some insights from the conversation: - The industry needs to collaborate with quantum technology providers to discover problems to fix - Industry end-users need to build expertise in-house by partnering with technology providers, who at the same time help make it easier by focusing on the interaction layer with actual solutions that the tech can provide, versus underlying technology - What is unique is the support that exists in the industry, as well as the tremendous excitement for the potential of quantum tech. NOW is the time to capitalise (both for startups as well as for end-users) on this support to bring about eventual real-world applications - In terms of potential use cases: Sensing already has physical products that can improve imaging (e.g. measuring cells at quantum scale). Simulation use cases (complex molecular and materials simulations, predict atomic-level processes) will require more co-development and integration, and communications and security also have a role to play Thanks to the panelists for their input: Maud Einhorn, Technical Account Executive at Quantinuum Romana Schirhagl, founder and CSO, QT Sense Krisztian Benyo, Ph.D., Technical Business Development Manager, Pasqal Michael Marthaler, CEO & Co-Founder, at HQS Quantum Simulations

Yesterday was the final day for Quantum Delta NL as the official partner country at this year’s #QuantumEffects Messe Stuttgart! Our delegation took to various stages, showcasing a strong representation of the Dutch quantum ecosystem with a compelling presentation on quantum and health by Deepak H. Veeregowda, Ph.D., CEO of QT Sense to an expert panel on medical use cases with Romana Schirhagl (Founder and CSO, QT Sense), moderated by Pavel Kalinin (Infinity QD)👏. 🤩 QuiX Quantum, Qblox, and QuantWare took centre stage, highlighting recent developments and collaborations with Germany. We also announced exciting new joint initiatives with Quantum BW: 1. Connecting life & science ecosystems in Quantum Delta NL and Quantum BW 2. Enabling easy access for our startups to shared facilities, such as TNO’s new sensing testbed 3. Organizing startup matchmaking sessions to reduce barriers to cross-border collaboration Feel free to contact Qblox, QuantWare, QT Sense, TNO, QuantaMap, QuiX Quantum and Delft Circuits to follow up on any opportunities! 🚀 #QuantumEffects #QDNL #QuantumTechnology

🌐👏 The United Nations International Computing Centre (UNICC) and Quantum Delta NL have announced their partnership to jointly explore the transformative potential of quantum technologies for the United Nations system. The partnership was launched at the side event “Quantum for Good,” held during the Summit of the Future Action Days last week, co-sponsored by the Republic of Namibia, the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Quantum Delta NL, the International Telecommunication Union, and the World Economic Forum, and hosted at Accenture. UNICC and Quantum Delta NL signed a Memorandum of Understanding to collaborate in: 🤝 (1) exploring the use of quantum technologies for the benefit of UNICC partners, 🤝 (2) organizing joint events for raising awareness on this frontier technology across the UN system, and 🤝 (3) working jointly to identify and implement prioritized projects. As part of the collaboration, further expert events and activities will be held in the lead-up to the 2025 International Year of Quantum Science and Technology. 📍 First of these events will be a follow up conference co-hosted by UNICC and Quantum Delta NL on 20 and 21 November 2024 in The Hague, Netherlands, in close collaboration with global partners. 💡 Interested to know more? Someone new has joined our team: welcome to Martin SFP Bryant! 🙌
My biggest professional passions are early-stage startups and making complex things easy to understand. Combine the two and working with Infinity QD as their Communications Lead makes perfect sense. I'm happy to be working with the team in the Netherlands (remotely from Manchester!) to support the rapidly developing quantum technologies startup ecosystem there. Don't worry - PreSeed Now is still as active as ever (we started a major research project into early-stage funding in the UK just this week!) and I'm still working with Matt Navarra on his weekly Geekout newsletter for social media professionals, along with some other ongoing projects. I'm excited to start working with Camille Grotenbreg, Pavel Kalinin, Iain Thompson, Isabel Pullman and the broader Infinity community... let's gooo...
