Meet Stijn Hendrix! 𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐝𝐢𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐈𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐒𝐲𝐧? During my studies, Scientist and Process Safety Analyst Dennis Heemskerk inspired me to do an internship at InnoSyn. Back then, he was a teacher (temporarily) and I was really interested in synthetic chemistry, and still am. I like InnoSyn’s projects since they have social interest (e.g. for customers), diversity and multi-disciplinarity (lots of different competences). But the most important, is the mindset and kindness of the co-workers which makes you feel to be part of a second family. 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐞𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐝𝐢𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞? I pursued a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry at Zuyd University of Applied Sciences in Heerlen, mainly focussing on organic and physical chemistry. During my third-year industry internship at InnoSyn, I was part of the biocatalysis team to develop a process for a multi-enzyme cascade. At the end of my studies, I graduated at Fibrant where we developed a high-performance heterogeneous catalyst in a continuous-flow system. Besides chemistry, I have basic knowledge of microbial biotechnology, biochemistry and chemical engineering.

Meet Luc Beumers 𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐝𝐢𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐈𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐒𝐲𝐧? During my internship at InnoSyn, I knew exactly that the work they do is exactly what I wanted to do in life. The variety in projects and the way how the team works together really suits me. Besides that, the team and people within InnoSyn are very nice colleagues to talk and work with. 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐞𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐝𝐢𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞? I studied Applied Science at Zuyd Hogeschool in Heerlen with a focus on (organic) chemistry. During my Bachelor, I developed my interest into (organic) chemistry during the education, but also during my internships at InnoSyn and Sabic.

Meet Sara Russo! 𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐝𝐢𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐈𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐒𝐲𝐧? My desire is to gain hands-on experience in the industrial sector, working on innovative projects with experienced scientists. The reason I chose to work with InnoSyn is because I believe this is an ideal place to acquire new skills for my professional growth and especially because I liked the environment during my interviews and the fact that the company really values its people. 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐞𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐝𝐢𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞? I did my BSc and MSc in Medicinal Chemistry at the University of Rome La Sapienza (Italy). During my studies, I completed an Erasmus internship in the University of Groningen, where I later pursued a Ph.D. in Biocatalysis and Enzyme Engineering. My current scientific interest areas are biocatalysis, protein engineering, and enzyme kinetics.
