Last Friday, we had the honor of welcoming Conny Helder, the new Chair of the Supervisory Board and the Chief Operating Officer, Erik Eijrond of RegMed XB, to our Innovation Center for Advanced Therapies (ICAT) facility at Utrecht Science Park in Zeist. During her visit, both visitors received an in-depth presentation and lab tour of our facility. It was a fantastic opportunity to showcase our cutting-edge projects in regenerative medicine and highlight the strength of this ecosystem. Conny Helder’s dedication to making healthcare more accessible, affordable, and future-proof aligns perfectly with our mission to develop regenerative therapies that can cure patients suffering from chronic diseases. We look forward to continued collaboration and are excited about the future of regenerative medicine in the Netherlands and beyond! 🌍 #RegenerativeMedicine #Innovation #Healthcare #ICAT #RegMedXB #PilotFactory #Collaboration #FutureOfHealth

Three National Growth Fund-initiatives sign collaboration agreement Following their joint statement earlier this month, three consortia; Biotech Booster, Oncode Accelerator and RegMed XB- gathered at their joint office today to sign the agreement marking the official start of their collaboration. More collaboration agreements with key partners, such as NXTGEN Hightech, will follow soon. The #collaboration is rooted in a shared vision of fostering #innovation and improving human #health and is focused on - but certainly not limited to - driving the development of advanced therapy medicinal products (#ATMP’s) and #biopharmaceuticals in order to provide novel treatments for a spectrum of diseases ranging from cancer to autoimmune diseases. 🚀 Driving Interdisciplinary Collaboration in Research 🚀 Yesterday at the Research Days at UMC Utrecht, Innovation Center for Advanced Therapies (ICAT) participated in an insightful panel discussion with Jos Malda (UMC Utrecht), Eva van Ingen, PhD (ICAT), Paulina Nunez Bernal (Biofabrication), and Chien Nguyen (3D Lab) on how team science fosters interdisciplinary collaboration, enhances innovation, and supports researchers' professional development. Jos Malda shared success stories from his team during his keynote lecture, highlighting the significant impact of teamwork on scientific progress. Following the panel, ICAT was present at the Healthcare and Laboratories of the Future event, where we engaged with attendees to discuss how we bridge research and clinical practice, our services, and the value of our network. It was a fantastic opportunity to connect with interested professionals! #TeamScience #UtrechtScienceWeek #InterdisciplinaryResearch #Innovation #Collaboration #ProfessionalDevelopment #ICAT #Healthcare

Last Night, Regenerative Medicine Utrecht and UMC Utrecht organized a public event "The Hospital of the Future" as part of the Utrecht Science Week. During this evening, current and future clinical applications of cell and gene therapies (ATMPs) were presented. It was inspiring to see what the hard work of the Cell Therapy Facility (CTF) team and Hospital Pharmacy of the UMC Utrecht has contributed to these novel treatments by producing many of these therapies. During the breaks, part of the CTF team: Vince Sindhunata, Ilse Dingjan, Martine Jonker, Lieneke Meijer-Jongeneel, Christien Marsman and Madeleine Macco, together with our colleagues from ICAT interacted with participants to explain what it takes to develop and produce ATMPs for clinical applications. They also provided a virtual tour through our new clean room facility currently under construction.
