𝐄𝐔 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬 𝐕𝐢𝐃𝐀: 𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞’𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰 Recently, at the ECOFIN meeting, EU Finance Ministers officially approved the VAT in the Digital Age (ViDA) proposal! This follows the political agreement reached last November. The ViDA package will take effect 20 days after its publication in the Official Journal of the EU. However, some changes will be introduced gradually. The biggest changes under ViDA: 🔹From 1 July 2030, e-invoicing will become the standard across the EU. Member States may still allow alternative invoices for domestic transactions. 🔹Recapitulative statements will be replaced by Digital Reporting Requirements (DRR) for cross-border supplies, introducing real-time reporting. 🔹Domestic real-time reporting must align with cross-border reporting standards if adopted by Member States. 🔹By 1 January 2035, all national systems must be harmonised with the EU model.
