We are delighted to announce that we have acquired shares of Italian SPECIALITIES s.r.l., a distributor of specialty chemicals for the homecare, personal care, industrial and institutional cleaning market. SPECIALITIES distributes its own product portfolio all over Europe and has decades of experience, its own application laboratory for the development of innovative formulation concepts and a production facility for the manufacturing of high-quality raw materials for the cleaning markets. As a specialty chemical distributor, KRAHN fully supports the Chemicals Strategy for Sustainability (CSS), which is a key component of the EU Green Deal, aimed at mitigating the negative impacts of chemicals on human health and the environment. To ensure the goals of the EU Green Deal are achieved, the framework for Safe and Sustainable by Design (SSbD) was recently developed. SSbD places safety, sustainability, and innovation at the forefront of product design. It plays a crucial role in identifying chemicals that meet the criteria of being safe and sustainable and utilizes research and innovation (R&I) activities to evaluate the overall impact of chemicals. By acknowledging the SSbD framework and offering sustainability as well as Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) services, we at KRAHN are not just complying with regulations. We have been working hand in hand with our partners, suppliers, and customers to co-create solutions that align with the progressive principles of EU’s framework for safe and sustainable by design. Our commitment at KRAHN to responsible sourcing, stringent quality control, and transparent supply chains complements the EU's vision for safer and more sustainable chemicals.
