Over ons
At its heart, the Learning for Well-being (L4WB) Foundation is a group of people – team, community, board – who have come together to support a shared vision and the activities that can enliven that vision. We are committed to manifesting a world where each one of us can participate fully, in a holistic and systemic way, to discover and enrich our unique qualities and experience our common humanity, on the individual and collective level. The Foundation was set up in 2004 as a non-profit organisation and registered in The Netherlands. A beginning vision... Daniel Kropf and Marwan Awartani, co-founders of the Learning for Well-being Foundation, met at a meeting in Rome in June 2002. From that first meeting it was clear that they shared a desire to see a new kind of society in which their passion for the well-being and happiness of children could be realized. They understood that manifesting their values through this vision required: * a shift in thinking and decision-making; * the integration of education and health systems; * a common agenda to include public institutions as well as business and private foundations; * recognition of our interconnectedness, and the uniqueness of every human being. They also knew that this vision rests on knowing that relationships are built on trust and curiosity. From their commitment to this shared vision, in May 2004, with Corinne Evens as an additional co-founder, they established the Universal Education Foundation (now: Learning for Well-being Foundation). Since then, various partners have participated in developing L4WB’s strategy and have joined in co-creating and implementing programs that reflect the vision and values of Learning for Well-being.

It is essential to prioritise children's voices in the EU's decision-making and ensure their rights are effectively protected. We are inviting the members of the European Parliament to join us on 16 October in Brussels at 'MEP Salon', to exchange and network with child rights organisations, and support the re-establishment of the Intergroup on Children’s Rights. This initiative is crucial for ensuring that children’s voices are prioritised in the EU's decision-making processes. Let’s ensure that the EU hears and acts upon children’s voices!

On #WorldMentalHealthDay, we proudly stand with 32 organizations calling for the development of a comprehensive EU Strategy on #MentalHealth. The mental health crisis across Europe affects millions of individuals, families, and communities. Our joint statement calls for a strategic approach that prioritizes prevention, fights stigma, and ensures inclusive, accessible, and affordable mental health care. It highlights the urgent need to tackle mental health inequalities across the EU and provide the resources necessary to close gaps in care. We also call for the strategy to promote a comprehensive and holistic approach to mental health for children and young people, building on commitments under the EU Strategy on the Rights of the Child, the EU Child Guarantee, and the EU Youth Strategy. World Teachers' Day is celebrated annually to honour educators around the globe. Thank you, Margareta Przybyła for participating in the 94th QoC talk!
On behalf of Czepczyński Family Foundation I had the pleasure to take part in the debate on “Public policies for #children in Europe: The state of art on #education, social protection, health and well-being” organised by Alliance for Childhood - European Network Group. This event was a great starting point of the new legislative term in Brussels. This event has been hosted and opened by MEP Ewa Kopacz, Vice-President of the European Parliament and EP Spokesperson on children rights. This confirmed MEPs commitment to “ensure that all children have equal opportunities to develop their potential and equal start into their adult life”. Big thanks 🙏 👏 to all great panellists Dominic Richardson Oana Felecan Emmi Weller and Chiara Piccolo who presented European Commission guidelines on mental health and wellbeing at school, where CFF inclusive education project “ABC of Empathy” has been included as an example of a best practice. ‼️ We need to make emotional education part of school curriculum in all EU Member States. This is a commitment for CFF and all involved partner organisations!

🔊 Underfunding early childhood leads to higher poverty, deeper inequality, and long-term societal challenges. ✨ This past Tuesday, we proudly participated in the 94th Quality of Childhood (QoC) Talk at the European Parliament Info Hub. Hosted by the Vice-President of the European Parliament Ewa Kopacz, the event brought together 76 participants—54 in person and 22 online—and experts from Alliance for Childhood - European Network Group and EuroHealthNet to explore how public policies in Europe can improve children's education, health, social protection, and overall well-being. In her opening remarks, Vice-President Kopacz highlighted: "Ensuring children's equal access to healthcare, education, adequate housing, and nutrition from an early age is essential to combating social exclusion and giving every child the opportunity to fulfil their potential." Our Executive Director, Dominic Richardson, delivered a compelling presentation urging countries to prioritize early childhood in policy agendas. He emphasized that investing in children aged 0-5 can close inequality gaps, boost educational outcomes, and strengthen family well-being. Yet, many nations still underfund these critical early years, with long-lasting consequences. The session was filled with engaging discussions, ambitious ideas, and a shared commitment to making real change. A video of the session will be available soon—stay tuned! 🎥 Together, we advocate for policies that ensure every child has the chance to thrive! 💪👶 #QoCTalks #ChildWellbeing #L4WB #EarlyChildhoodDevelopment
