In order to defend freedom in the digital field in 2012, a group of American lawyers created a community to promote debate on this topic.
A group of thinkers is gathered now in several parts of the globe and we wanted to bring this movement to The Hague which will officially launched on the 10th of December 2018.
In a creative way we will promote and support non-profit events that focus on discussing the points of intersection between Law and Technology, and understand the extent to which Law and Public Policy can serve as an instrument to adapt societies new technologies and what role they can play in the legal world. Our events will include social events, workshops, lectures and conferences, with a purpose to bring together people from different backgrounds, in a transparant, democratic and open way.
The movement, initiated in an informal and unpretentious way, now counts with more than 80 chapters in the world, being present in more than 40 countries. Legal Hackers wants to invite all those who feel they are entitled to discuss these issues, it is not a community closed to the world of lawyers, it is the invitation of the jurists to others, so that their voices are heard and the design of the new ideas has a vision 360º.
It is not a business organisation, a company or an association of lawyers
Legal Hackers is the blank canvas where artists of the future will design your artwork. It is up to us to draw the juridical world of tomorrow. Together!
