Een repost van DEI Champion Pim Blom: "Met opgeheven hoofd kijk ik terug op de Olympische Spelen, en dat is niet alleen vanwege de prestaties van #TeamNL. Ik ben namelijk ook trots op #TeamLGBTQ, het fictieve team dat bestaat uit alle olympische atleten die openlijk queer zijn. Dat was dit jaar een recordaantal van maar liefst 195 deelnemers! Van de Italiaanse volleybalster Paola Egonu, die openlijk panseksueel is, tot de Britse schoonspringer en Instagram-bekendheid Tom Daley. Queer atleten die voor Nederland uitkwamen, zijn onder andere hockeykeepster Anne Veenendaal, wielrenster Marianne Vos en waterpoloster Laura Aarts. In totaal wonnen al deze regenboogatleten 42 medailles, waarvan 15 goud - net genoeg om Nederland te overtreffen in het medailleklassement. Hoewel ik enorm blij ben met deze prestatie, valt er ook nog winst te behalen. Aan de Olympische Spelen deden namelijk 10.781 atleten mee. Als je ervan uitgaat dat 9% hiervan queer is, gebaseerd op onderzoek van Ipsos uit 2023, dan zouden we eigenlijk 970 queer atleten verwachten. Daarnaast vertegenwoordigt het merendeel van #TeamLGBTQ de 'L' in het lhbti-spectrum. Er waren slechts 24 homoseksuele, 2 non-binaire en 2 transgender sporters. En voor alle duidelijkheid: nee, de veelbesproken bokster en goudenmedaillewinnares Imane Khelif hoort niet bij die laatste groep." Go team LGBTQ+! 🌈 #olympics #teamlgbtq

Over half of the employees at the Gemeente Amsterdam experience discrimination, racism, bullying, and boundary-crossing behaviour. People are being judged and humiliated because of their skin colour, heritage, sexuality, disabilities, or chronic illnesses. These were the shocking results of the investigation conducted by the Verwey-Jonker Instituut, at the request of the government. So how do we tackle the diversity and inclusion issues at the root of organisations? How do we create understanding, respect, and equality amongst one another? Perhaps Let's play equal - The most unfair game in the world would be a good place for the Dutch government to start. Through Let's play equal players come face-to-face with their own prejudices and biases. Walking a mile in someone else's shoes opens the conversation about diversity and inclusion.
